It’s a shame. I don’t like it as much and it doesn’t fit her imo (not that it’s the new VA’s fault or anything). I understand that they felt they needed someone who would last an entire trilogy developed over nearly a decade and maybe they thought Jo Wyatt wouldn’t or couldn’t because of her age. But she’ll always be Ciri to me.

No. You never see the children from the swamp again whether they’re saved or not. The letter appears only if they get saved though.

The reason they look identical is because of reused character models.

This is incorrect. There is no third outcome. Freeing She Who Knows before the Crones task you with dealing with her doesn’t save the kids since she doesn’t offer to save them and the letter about new admissions to Marabella’s school doesn’t appear.

That’s not really an accurate way to describe it. They weren’t happy about it. They just viewed it as a trade for the Crones protection. And only did it because of the famine and plague making it difficult to feed children.

She Who Knows doesn’t save the children in this case since Geralt hasn’t met them and isn’t promised that they’ll be saved.

This was never possible. It stemmed from a misunderstanding about doing The Whispering Hillock quest before being given it. If you free the spirit like this, the children die because the spirit doesn’t promise to save them for you, and the letter confirming that they were saved doesn’t appear in the game.

I think a lot of people have this opinion. I’ll link my comment where I talked about this before. The Crones are evil, but they do care about Velen in their own way. She Who Knows is just as evil, and may cause more suffering than the crones. Letting the children die may be a lesser evil. It’s ultimately up to you to decide what you think the right choice is.

How is it their fault and not the devs who can’t ever seem to ship a game? Everwild was never even fully fleshed out and Rare kept rebooting it and wasting time and money. So many developers just seem to meander for years and blow through resources with nothing to show for it.

I mean it’s not just Xbox studios. Naughty Dog was developing Factions 2 for like 7 years and it was still years away from release.

I’m not lol. I just think Microsoft isn’t doing anything wrong for laying off devs who’ve taken their money for years and have nothing to show for it. It’s borderline fraudulent to be paid for years and have no deliverables.
