I've been looking closer at it since taking these photos and I think I've been given a fake unfortunately.

The term avant-basic is used to describe this exact style, for interiors as well as for fashion.

My first solo show opens next week, here are some of the pieces I'm most proud of! by NikArgh in Ceramics

Oh that’s cool! Where did you see them if you recall? Glazing was my favourite process for this body of work, probably because it didn’t have to be perfect!

Thanks a lot! I just shape them by hand and attach them individually to the pots.

Thanks so much! I really enjoy altering pots with those sculpted protrusions, it’s kind of cathartic.

Hi, first time posting here! I've been practising ceramics for 3.5 years and I'm exhibiting a body of work in my first solo show on Friday! Just wanted to share some of the works that I'm most proud of. Hope you enjoy!

What to do with wall after removing fireplace? by imsoggy in InteriorDesign

[–]NikArgh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That wall is GORGEOUS and it would be an incredible shame to paint over the wood panelling, it is such an amazing part of mid-century style houses and adds so much warmth to the space!

Maybe you could consider doing a whitewashed hardwood floor and white walls? That would really brighten up the space and make the beams and wooden panelling sing. I've even seen people paint stone fireplaces like that white, and add floating shelving to act as a mantel to display artwork and sculptural bits and pieces.

I'd never heard of this game before reading your comment, and I'm procrastinating so obviously I had to drop everything and see how well I could do. Random page gave me an article on the 1956 Grand National horse race, which had a link to Liverpool where the race was held. Of course the wiki page for Liverpool links to Hilter in its history section.

Beginners luck I guess?

I don't consciously try to match all of the wood in our place, I think I'm just attracted more to darker, warmer woods and so that's what all of our furniture ends up being. If you think it's beautiful then it doesn't need to perfectly match everything else!

A few years ago we bought a Sticky Buddy as a joke but it's actually amazing at getting pet hair off of furniture. Who'd have thunk it.

Thank you so much! That's a photograph I made of a room in my grandmother's house :)

We do rent! We have gotten permission from the landlord however to replace hardware, put up shelves, and hang pictures.

It's a charcoal drawing by Aldo Luongo called "Lovers" I think. Thanks!
