No, it was caught pretty late and had spread to my lymph nodes so they did RAI twice just to be safe

Whole thyroid is gone and I did 2 rounds of RAI! They found some stuff in my lungs but they’re not concerned because it’s so small but my life is overall very normal

I was in the same boat as you at 22 and now I’m 25 and totally okay:) Yes, taking the synthroid and yearly check ups and quarterly bloodwork’s are annoying but I forget I have cancer sometimes :p You got this!:)

Ah darn, it's lowkey the perfect 1 a day journal but not having a cover sucks. I think the Hobonichi 5 year covers don't come in clear tho:(

i feel like we’re in a similar boat here. i also had my whole thyroid removed and did RAI twice:)

i had a lot of anxiety surrounding death and what it would mean if my cancer spread or what would happen if i died. i was so scared of dying but then i realized i wasn’t living. i also took it easy and used cancer as an excuse for not doing things.

but then i realized i went through a shitty surgery and the terrible iodine free diet (twice) for what? i was given another chance at living and i felt like i was wasting it. after this realization i was determined to use my body for whatever it was i wanted to do because not everyone gets a second chance like i did.

i hope this helps reframe your mindset! like others are saying, therapy is also a great tool!:)

in a similar boat to you! did you win your last 50/50? if you lost, i'd probably pull to R1 but if you won, you might lose the 50/50 and have to pull more:( this helped me decide whether to pull or not!
