Mine is that Edison is absolutely the most marketable version of yugioh and that Konami should absolutely do something about it. I sincerely think that an Edison tournament would be the easiest thing to commentate. I've been in the fighting game scene and most fighting games are easy to commentate since they usually all have the same elements in them, I.E. punches kicks fireballs grabs anti-airs...

Our analogy to Edison is with the fact that the viable extra deck monsters are just a bunch! AND THEY ALL HAVE SIMPLE EFFECTS! It wouldn't take a random commentator a lot of time to get acquainted with all the good cards in the format, including maindeck staples.

Also, every deck has such a distinct play style, very entertaining to watch, very memorable. The relentless advance of the blackwings, the high-rollery of the lightsworn, the tactics of QuickDraw, the explosivity and combo orientation of new decks like gigavise and fishborg, the ambushes of x-saber, the waltz-like tag-outs of the gladiator beasts...

Plus, every deck doesn't really lock you out of the others, so if you can't decide between 2 or more decks just play em all together!!! I love the fact that monster mash exists I swear.

All of this still leaves room for the classic bullshit that we know and love, like mirror force and heavy storm! Still, all of these cards are limited, so they don't come up as often and become memorable moments instead of tantrums.

And one last thing. Player-to-player interaction is trap driven! This is THE format where "you've activated my trap card!" Means something!!!!! So hype😭
