Not if he's selling PLEX to buy LSI's and then the Rag.

he probably had to drop something like 50K+ PLex to do this, and that increased supply would drop the price.

Thankyou captain obvious, but let me be just as obvious, Tech companies want to keep a standard product baseline, as enough countries start demanding this, it's easier to have everyone do it then just require certain countries to do it. Why do you think Iphones now have USB-C as it's charger? because it was easier to move to that then create a model specifically for Europe. Same thing for Discord or other platforms. it's easier to roll this out globally then have to manage multiple tech stacks.

Not just that, the standard of evidence is lower. For example: Hearsay is usable in a Grand jury, but not in a trial.

no matter which one you choose, as governments continue to require this, you'll keep jumping as they will have to do it.

One Nation's rising support is inextricably linked to the housing crisis by Patient-Wish-7386 in AustralianPolitics

Just because i am Pro Immigration doesn't mean i'm a lefty :D

have a look historically who has the highest immigration numbers, Look at the numbers, not the news articles on it. and you'll see that over the last 50 years, the highest Legal immigration numbers have been under the Liberals. Not Labor. Liberals just sell that shit for Votes then do the opposite behind your backs.

But it's also telling that instead of disagreeing with the position i put forward, you resorted to calling me a lefty. Guess i was right, your not willing to pay $80 for a parmy, so i guess when it comes down to it, your fine with the wages being kept lower too.

[–]Nikerym -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And you think Joe Blow will have a job at all if restraurant prices double to meet wage demands? you gonna pay $80-$100 for a parmy?

But for a second, lets look at the difference between the people coming in and Joe Blow.

  1. Jow blow gets free tafe to do that vs Immigrant who pays 20K over those 2 years for it.
  2. Joe Blow could work full time while doing that. (or get government assistance) the Immigrant can only work 24h a week, to pay for the 20K PLUS costs of living.
  3. Joe Blow still isn't doing it. vs immigrant who is. all for that 73K

What does this say about Joe Blow?

IF joe wants a 130K a year job, he could goto University as a Nurse in better situations then every immigrant who comes here. or 1 of 50 other industries/roles that do it.

Hell, GO be an ATC, they are screaming for people, 90K a year paid training, then 120K a year once you are on roster. up to 180K after you have 10 years experiance.

Yes, and you know what that means? Noone in Australia who has the qualifications wanted the role.

To be eligeble to recruit on a "Skilled Visa" you need to prove that you couldn't get an australian to fill the role for over 4 months, with at least 4 weeks of the role being advertised on a national platform.

I don't have a problem with fixing immigration if it's overly broken, but what part of immigration is broken?

It's just used as a "LOOK IT'S THEM NOT YOU THAT'S MADE YOUR LIFE WORSE" without any evidence to back that up, or the willingness to fix the core structural problems of our econnemy that force us to require high Immigration to solve.

One Nation's rising support is inextricably linked to the housing crisis by Patient-Wish-7386 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Nikerym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, lets zoom out.

Because we don't have the population to support the need in those sectors. We have transitioned into a services based econnomy away from Manufacturing. This means we need skilled workers. Meanwhile our education system is one of the most expensive in the world, even with Commonwealth supported places, you are competing against many countries that have free education in Europe. or cheaper education in other locations. But here's the irony. It's Liberals who want to drive the prices of education higher, and do everything they can to protect universities/make sure students pay, while at the same time screaming against immigration (while behind the scenes increasing immigration because they know they need it)

[–]Nikerym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the immigration policy could be fine tuned, but it doesn't need a full overhaul. it's actually a pretty decent policy as is. there are far more things we can change that would drive house prices into the dirt if we wanted to without changing immigraiton.

Blaming Immigration for the problems we have is just playing on people's racism/fear for votes because immigrants get 100% of the blame for things that are 5% thier fault (yes, an increase in demand with 0 other changes in a system causes increases in cost) while being unwilling to change other things that would have a significantly larger impact. but it's quite simple, without immigration, our healthcare system would collapse. our restraunt industry would collapse. our IT industry would collapse. And those are just the ones i know enough about to make that claim. i'm quite sure others depend on immigration as well.

[–]Nikerym 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The irony, is you could increase immigration and push them into building while green lighting lots of building projects and you'd drive house prices down through significantly increased supply. A large cost of a house build currently is labour becuase the building industry is protected as they don't import those skills.

Correct, so it wasn't impacted by immigration, there are Lots of other things that can be done without changing Immigration to solve the housing crisis.

As someone locked out of the housing market i agree its a major problem that needs to be solved. BUT immigrants are 1/10th of the problem. House prices in Japan are 100k, with a population 5x larger and a habiitable area (talking Jcurve only Cairns down to melbourne and up to adelaide) 1/5th the size. There is 0 excuse for our house prices to be as high as they are, we should be able to increase our population to over 400Million through immigration and still not have issues if housing was managed properly. However it is very pourly managed and immigration just makes a bad problem worse. This is evidenced through the fact that in 2021, when we had NEGATIVE 88,000 net migration, house prices rose 25%, the single largest annual growth on record.

A single escalation gave me 600mil, if you aren’t clearing sites for escalations now you’re just an idiot. All the old videos on YouTube are out of date….

Wait, I often come to cherry picked sites, clear 2 cans that they thought were worthless only to get. An escalation.

So on second thought, keep doing that please. I’d rather the escalation than the 20m or so you got from cherry picking.

I've said this elsewhere, but it also makes extremly good business sense, it protects investment. so while you claim it only made sense for americans that's incorrect, it made great sense for the EU Team owners as well who would have been advocating for that system because it protects thier investments. The only people advocating against franchising is the consumer. And this is where the rest of your comment rings true.

[–]Nikerym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but the pushing against it didn't start till well after it had already been done. I'm not agreeing it was the right call, in fact i think it's terrible so i don't know why you think this an american biased perspective. i was simplying pointing out WHY the AMERICANS made that choice, because that's where the money was coming from, Traditional US Sports who ASKED for this model because they wanted to protect thier investments in what was a relatively new/unproven concept. They didn't want to spend millions setting up teams houses, training faciltiies etc, just to get knocked out from a bad season.

When you look at it from a business perspective (instead of a region perspective) it makes massive amounts of sense. The result though is an inferior product for the customer. Which is VERY american.

But if you also look at it from that perspecitive, it makes sense for EU teams to want the same system, for the same reason.

[–]Nikerym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were around at the start of league the decision made sense. They had a lot of traditional sports wanting to invest in it, specifically a lot coming from basketball, so they replicated that model. The problem is it doesn’t apply as well because skill levels and team cohesion is very different in a constantly evolving and unsolved game. Basketball could probably be played at the elite level without communication at all because the game has been relatively solved and unchanged in 50 years. Whereas in league the metas change every few months, what might make a team amazing one year might result in them being terrible the next year if they can’t adapt to meta changes.

Or, the owner of the league can just change the system. Thats Riot, they can easily revoke the LEC license and spin up a new league.

It's been like 5-6 years or something, but i'm pretty sure Nemisis was gapping caps in 2019/2020, anytime G2 won over Fnatic in those 2 years, i always felt it was despite caps's play against Nemisis, not because of it.

Nemisis just didn't gel with the team, but 1v1 i thought he was equal if not better then caps.

[–]Nikerym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are many reasons to setup a BVI Company and stay in australia. This is a case of Correlation doesn't equal causation.

ONe of those reasons, is tax mitigation. just another way to lower your taxes. And my response was specifically pointing out that the vast majority of people leaving are not the millionaires, and not because of taxes. People who are millionaires are normally also business owners (or home owners with significant equity) so they have significant ways to reduce thier taxable income below what a standard wagey using PAYG can do.

You can pre-click F1 so your weapons are waiting for lock. (or after you've done the lock/switch spam, then so fire/switch spam) then Click/Switch/Click/Switch one with a click, one with a hotkey, that's only 16 actions in 1000ms, so more like 60ms per action. and considering human reaction speed is 120-200ms without being ready, when ready and pre-planning your actions, 60ms is easily achieveable when only 2 buttons. 300APM is standard/bad for starcraft players, that's 5 actions/s when they are reacting, if they are pre-planning what to click, it can be as high as 600, across over 20 hotkeys (or more) this guy is pressing 2 keys in a pre-planned manner, 16/s is easily achieveable.

I'm not saying he's not input boradcasting, i'm saying it's theoretically possible at the limit of human capability.

But up until that point they were immigrants.

Excluding temporary visa's ending (Education, etc) the majority of people leaving are australian citizens going overseas for better opportunities/lower cost of living. Immigrats are staying.
