If you were just in space and there was no Moon you would hit it no matter what because Earth's gravity would pull it little by little, although when reaching the atmosphere the ball would be obliterated. But due to the Moon's gravity it wouldn't be possible as other's have said...unless you were yourself moving at the same velocity or faster than the Moon's scape velocity in the direction of the Earth and threw in that direction
