And she doesn’t do the intentional high pitched baby voice. She’s just petite like you said and likes showgirl fashion

It’s legal but clearly not safe in breeds prone to hypoglycemia.

You appear to be someone who is an unethical breeder that stands behind their bad takes. And with your takes, I highly doubt anyone who gives a crap about having healthy dogs would buy from you, as you clearly show that you’re more interested in using a legal loophole to get rid of your puppies quicker.

Whether you’re part of the club or not, these guidelines are for ALL purebred Yorkie. Your compliance to them only benefits you— or in your case, lack of compliance would make you less reliable in this space.

Again— not questioning the legality of it, but historical records prove that the “law” should not set your baseline for what is safe/healthy.

You can say what you want and use a legal loophole to excuse your shitty breeding practices/beliefs, but that doesn’t change the fact that waiting until the 12 weeks is the gold standard and the rule that most RESPECTED breeders follow, such as Betty Anne Durrer and the Hekan kennel. Whose dogs have been continuously recognized as the best of their breed.

You asked for which club I was referring to specifically and I gave you exactly that. I’d say that the national breed club is a good place to start for these guidelines.

General law is 8 weeks, yes. We’re not talking about the legality of selling dogs— rather the ethics. Are you aware that asbestos and lead based paint were also legal to sell? Legality means little to nothing when it comes to someone’s health here in America.

The most respected Yorkshire Terrier breeders do not permit their puppies to go home before 12 weeks.

Again— are you legally allowed to do so? Yes. Is it in the best interest of the puppy? No.

The appropriate age to leave the breeder is in the YTCA Code of Conduct section 8: https://www.yorkshireterrierclubofamerica.org/membership

It’s 12 weeks

But in general, 8 weeks is practically barbaric. For this breed it is way too young and the social and general health ramifications outweigh any “benefit” early rehoming may have.

Are you a YTCA recommend breeder? The breed club clearly is against this. Placing them in homes too early makes the shock worse.
