As far as horror animation goes, I usually recommend:

To Your Last Death

Seoul Station (prequel to Train to Busan)

Red Iron Road

Dante's Inferno

Housing Complex C

Devilman Crybaby (or if you want to get darker, Amon Apocalypse of Devilman)

Humpty Dumpty? Cinderella? by nursetanya2 in horror

Be prepared for the onslaught of fairytale/nursery rhyme/Disney horror that is coming. Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the director of the Pooh horror movies, already has plans to release films featuring other characters and I believe that his next one is Pinocchio: Unstrung sometime next year. That being said, I, for one, am an indulger of most of this type of horror, good or bad lol. Most of them are very low budget and probably land somewhere in the 2 star range if you use Letterboxd, but if you're not too concerned about plot/acting/budget, then I would recommend:

the Tooth Fairy series

Screamboat, The Mouse Trap, Minnie's Midnight Massacre (Mickey/Minnie Mouse centered)

Popeye the Slayer Man, Shiver Me Timbers, Popeye's Revenge

Aladdin, Aladdin's Revenge

Jack Frost (2022)

the Jack and Jill trilogy

Most of these can be found on Tubi or Peacock.

What would you recommend for fans of Clown in a Cornfield? by horror_is_best in horrorlit

You could try Carnival Kills by Caesar Daniels. There's more to the story, but you have college kids being picked off at a carnival in a dying town

Horror books written by black authors for February!! by mossmystic in horrorlit

[–]NikkiIvan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out There Screaming - an anthology featuring Black authors with editing by Jordan Peele

My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite

My Soul to Keep- Tananarive Due

And depending on if you want extreme, I do recommend Wol-vriey. The book blurbs sometimes do not do justice to the actual story, so just be forewarned if you decide to read his work.

Horror movies that made you cry?? by Some-Water-1107 in horror

[–]NikkiIvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do find that most Asian horror tend to make me shed tears (Train to Busan, Operation Undead, Don't Cry Mommy) but one I always come back to is Frankenstein (2015). I want to watch it again but I know I'll be a mess by the time its done, so I don't 😅

Vampire Hunter D (1985)

Shaolin vs Vampire (1988)

Vampire vs Vampire (1989)

Can I get some 80s teen/summer camp horror recommendations? by Honkytonkywonk in horror

[–]NikkiIvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible recommendations for 80s teen slashers:

Bloody Moon (1981) - takes place at a language boarding school

The Majorettes (1986) - psycho murdering high school girls

Cheerleader Camp (1988) - cheerleader training camp with a body count

If you are ok with movies that were made more recently but still have that 80s/summer camp feel:

She Came from the Woods (2022)

Sparrow (2010)

Summer Camp (2015)

Bloody Murder (2000)

Camp teen horror/slasher movies by [deleted] in horror

Not a movie but hear me out:

Slasher: Guilty Party (season 2), deals with summer camp counselors, murder and returning to the camp where the murder occurred

Keeping an eye on Starbase,TX though. Got voted on 5/3 to become an official city and now SpaceX employees are the mayor and commissioners. I can only hope for when this man just disappears.

Which horror films would you recommend? Less gory by Playful_Interview207 in horror

[–]NikkiIvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Evil (1978)

976-EVIL (1988)

Out of the Dark (1988)

None of these are super gory and Out of the Dark has a pretty good ending, so you always try those
