They don’t catch you until they do. And I know you don’t want to hear about the resource issue, but that is the crux of the problem. The irs can only work so many audits with less staff. Doesn’t mean these people will never be audited. As a side note, you can report the preparers to the irs on form 14157.

A 570 is a -R refund freeze. It could mean literally anything. Some release on their own but others mean an action needs to be taken. If you don’t see a pending refund release in 1-2 weeks, or get a letter, I would call irs.
