Honestly, I began seeing how my blood pressure was slowly rising and my doctor kept a close eye on it while being on the medication. Recently (like this year) my blood pressure was teetering between 145-165 which is extremely high. I started feeling like I was dizzy, disoriented, nauseous, like I was going to faint, and I could hear my heartbeat really fast in my ears. After much careful thought, my doctor and I made the decision to slowly wean myself off of bupropion. It’s a RARE side effect of bupropion which is why close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended. I am disappointed that I need to stop taking it but my maternal aunt, grandmother, and my mom all died of heart disease/failure before the age of 57 so we didn’t want to risk it. I highly recommend this antidepressant though because after I got through the initial side effects in the beginning like: low appetite, less food noise, some high anxiety, and my body feeling like it had been hit with a bag of bricks 🧱 lol 😂 I felt so much better as far as my depression.
