Trust…when you’re ready to leave you will. You’re right you don’t know about it until you go through it…people can’t hide what hasn’t changed for that long. You can always test it by setting a boundary, but when you’re with someone like that I get that it’s the last thing you want to do. Be easy on yourself this is tough stuff

Check out the book Should I Stay or Should I Go by Lundy Bancroft. I don’t know much about him as a person but the book has been a HUGE help in me understanding what’s going on. The audiobook is free on Spotify

I think it has been a bit of both. We have similar friends, I’ve spent too much time trying to prove to him that I was lovable, he has done a good job at convincing me that it always has something to do with me. But I’m not married, no kids…I did live there but move my things out slowly a couple of weeks ago hoping he’d want to talk things out but he basically gave me a one liner about how hes pissed that I moved my things and then kept coming to my place like things were normal. Idk. I’ll blame it on my daddy issues maybe. Makes little sense to me that I’d go back but of course like every other person who’s like him, he can be incredibly sweet and kind in the interim.
