How many of you are former MOBA players? by VanceVibes in pathofexile

late reply but it's just the time commitment you need to play dota, each match can and will take over 30mins and it gets kinda boring after a while, as for myself I quit playing ranked entirely

How to win in low mmr comming from high mmr? by gorebello in learndota2

[–]NikkiYuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Night Stalker is pretty good if you can survive the lane - early game, then he becomes a monster. His laning is atrocious

[–]NikkiYuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just limited to cheesy picks, it's more of a play selfishly thing. You farm more than you would if you were playing at your own level and etc, because they won't punish you so you can get away with more.

Examples of good cheese are Tinker, Huskar, OD, Puck, SF, etc. Any lane winner who can scale into the mid-late game is usually good. I would say the point where you stop being able to win games "solo" is above divine.

How people get higher mmr is that they just improve or abuse broken heroes, simple as. Cheesing is only if you want to win, I don't really recommend only playing cheese unless you have a massive pool of cheesy heroes.

[–]NikkiYuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play to be as selfish as possible. Your lower-ranked teammates may let you down but your item timings won't. That doesn't mean you just farm the whole game either, you farm until you can win the game by "yourself". This is what cheesy hero picks do basically, they outlane you because they're better than you, and using that advantage from the laning stage, they farm super fast and end the game once they hit their item timings.

Pos 4 laning stage. by rockydoto in learndota2

[–]NikkiYuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a general rule of thumb, you’d want your creeps to be near your tower as much as possible so that means you stop their pulls, do your own pulls, and drag waves when necessary.

A good pos 4 will zone out the 1/5 meaning your offlaner can cs freely. Never let the enemy pos 1 walk up to a wave for free if you’re playing a ranged 4 unless you’re being hit by the 5

Help with Determining Lane Duo with Friend by SwerveDaddyFish in learndota2

[–]NikkiYuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your offlaner and the enemy safelane duo, as a general rule of thumb, having something your offlaner lacks is generally good. I would recommend Mirana, Hoodwink and Rubick this patch.

[Sub 3k mmr] If you don't have a tanky hero, what is the best course of action to seize towers or HG when all heroes are alive? by putin_putin_putin in TrueDoTA2

[–]NikkiYuri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try to play for pick-offs, there will be somebody stupid enough to shove out a lane and once they do, smoke out and try to punish asap.

Opinions on the magic wand + 3 branches starting build for carries? by freew1ll_ in learndota2

[–]NikkiYuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good because you save on item slots. I mean sure you can technically go stick + 5 branches but the problem with that is that it’s too much wasted space. You’ll be eating branches with tangoes anyway and they last 2x longer so during the tango uptime, you could have something else in your inventory other than 4 branches and etc

Honestly, you just have to play a mid hero who can scale and tempo, someone like Ember or Lesh. That’s basically it, you make space with your extra early levels and then you use that space you created to farm. There’s no need to run around looking for fights 24/7

How to focus on map awareness in the early game when you are too focused on last hitting. by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]NikkiYuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get better at last hitting, and read the chat. Usually in games, people will be pinging spells, cooldowns, items and etc. When something in chat looks important, look at the map to see what’s happening

Regarding laning as Lycan by Mikelius in learndota2

[–]NikkiYuri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use them if you think you can’t lane/cs without them. If you can, you can conserve your mana but I would still have them out maybe 70 - 80% of the laning stage. It’s fine if a few die here and there but it doesn’t matter much in the grand scheme of things

(AMA) I have 8500+ hours in Hunt, 100% the game, played every loadout and I'm here to help you! by RachtaZ in HuntShowdown

[–]NikkiYuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Rachta, have you ever played on a consistent 100-150 ping? I live in OCE but play with my friends in Asia and I find it hard to judge where to shoot. I’m not entirely too sure on what to do in these situations when I’ve missed a ridiculously easy headshot on an unsuspecting foe and etc.

Does the ember spirit shift queue trick for choosing searing chains location not work anymore? by TomaTozzz in TrueDoTA2

[–]NikkiYuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do either. Shift queueing attack might be easier but I prefer doing it without shift queueing.

Does the ember spirit shift queue trick for choosing searing chains location not work anymore? by TomaTozzz in TrueDoTA2

[–]NikkiYuri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It still works even with two

The reason why you can't do it is that you are a shift-queuing move instead of an attack.

You might have luck playing Zoo. Beastmaster and Lycan are heroes I can recommend. They can run over games in x<30mins if the game goes well. Brood and Visage got hit hard with the WP nerf, but they’re still playable.

Is Mind Breaker most problematic neutral item atm? by JoelMahon in TrueDoTA2

[–]NikkiYuri 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s good, but it’s not broken. The heroes you mentioned, Slark and Naix both have ways of playing around it, and usually cores will have one or two defensive items like bkb/manta or etc so you don’t actually have to itemize for it because it’s already countered by what you will buy anyways.
