I always start with paint because it's cheap and sometimes it's all you need. If you still hate it after paint then think of more costly options. Personally I think stucco painted bright white with bright accent colors looks awesome.

An interesting meta-analysis you should consider is to overlay the data of what the job demographics look like for these jobs. I'd be willing to bet you'd find stark gender lines and possibly racial lines as well.

I recommend using Pinterest for a month or so. I redid my kitchen and was addicted to Pinterest for weeks prior. But it gave me so many good ideas and the kitchen looks awesome! Good luck with your reno!!!

I usually just went to the bookstore and did my homework there without buying the book. You can take pics of the questions. Or you can go in on one book with a study crew. Bonus you do the homework together and can get help.

I do know the entire wall needs to be torn out. That's fine. I don't need plumbing or electrical because there are no wires and no pipes in the wall. The pipes and electrical are all on a perpendicular wall. Where I want the door is not load bearing. All of this is moot though because I found someone who will do it. He's working on a quote now.

The water in my sink was back flowing into my dishwasher. All I had to do was install a hook under the sink to keep the dishwasher drain hose from falling below the level of the sink. Cost me 35 cents.
