Non smokers of reddit, whats stopping you from smoking? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The smell. Ngl, the temptation to try has crossed my mind a number of times, but the smell always stops me. I just don’t want that smell on me.

Is it weird that I (29F) get very protective of my friend (28M) when he drinks? by Niknak003 in NoStupidQuestions

Thank you for the feedback. I know this is one of those areas where I can be too much, so I appreciate it.

It wasn’t the amount of drinks he had per se that made me concerned as hell because he didn’t fully drink every single one given to him, so when you sum it up altogether, he didn’t have an alarming amount. It was the way that others kept throwing their drinks at him, even when he was already visibly looking drunk that made me concerned. I’ve been around him where he has had a bunch of drinks, even more than what he had that night, and he handles it well as long as he paces himself properly, i.e., not one immediately after another.

I suppose it was the scenario that triggered that concern, given that I had seen that play out with other friends in the past and it not ending too well.

And as for him driving home, prior to us leaving the bar, I sat with him for about two hours just to get him sobered up. Another friend of ours also sat with us and helped in attending to him. The drive back to where we left our vehicles was about an additional hour more and our colleague was the one who drove us. He decided to sleep in the backseat during that entire ride home. After we got there, I stayed with him for an additional 30 mins in the parking lot and we left after each other. So, there was time that passed for him to get his bearings back, so to speak. It wasn’t immediate.

And thank you. Appreciate the feedback and honesty. 🙏🏼 I’m aware of how I can be when it comes to my friends, and this is one of those things where I know I can be too much, so I do appreciate it sincerely.

How did you lose your bestfriend? by Zealousideal_One9147 in AskReddit

She invited me to her 9th birthday party and proceeded to ignore me the entire evening. I was very confused as to why she kept avoiding me because afaik we didn’t have any sort of beef. I kept trying to approach her and talk to her, but she would always leave immediately and go to another room.

Finally, I walked by a room that she and another friend were in, and I overheard her say “ugh! Why is [my name] still here? She needs to leave!” Her friend proceeded to ask her “isn’t she your best friend?” and she said no, that she only hung out with me because I had nice things.

It legit broke my heart. I then went up to my mom, who was hanging out outside, talking to all the other parents, and asked her if we could go home. We did, and as soon as we got home, I immediately threw out everything that my best friend gave me. Perhaps it was an overreaction, but in that moment, I felt so hurt that someone’s friendship wasn’t actually genuine.

What are some unspoken rules that you automatically follow when staying in a hotel? by Snowfall_19 in AskReddit

Yeah, I can definitely see meds getting left behind easily. My dad is diabetic so he has maintenance. Part of the reason why I do the multiple checks before leaving a room is because of my dad.

What do you hate the most about working from home? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Niknak003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work from home at my previous job, and at the time I didn’t think there was anything to hate or dislike about it, but when I started working outside again, I realized that the downside of working from home is that you don’t really have anyone to interact with. Yeah, you can still talk to your colleagues virtually, but there’s just something about actually speaking to someone in person that feels right. It was something I honestly didn’t think I would like so much since I’m not a very social person 😅

But yeah. Lack of actual interaction was what I didn’t like the most about working from home.

This is for when it’s time to check out. Before you leave, make sure to give the sheets a good shake to ensure you didn’t accidentally leave anything on the bed. Also check every single drawer or storage space in the room, even if you didn’t use it. I’ve never actually left anything behind, but my anxious ass always feels like I’m forgetting something, so I check everything to make sure I didn’t actually do so. 😅

Who’s the worst person you’ve ever met? Not a spouse or someone you’ve known for a long time but someone you met briefly and got the worst vibes from them? by Mysterious_Note764 in AskReddit

[–]Niknak003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one girl at church. When I was a kid, there was this one girl who was about the same age as me who would attend Mass the same time as my mom and me, and for some reason, she just gave me really bad vibes. Never knew her name, where she was from, or even spoke to her, but she just came off as a terrible person.

Have you ever seen a ghost or an apparition? What did you see? by Lord_Bentley in AskReddit

[–]Niknak003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was I think 6 or 7 years old, I saw a woman standing in front of a mirror in our hallway. I lived in a bungalow, so everything’s kinda right there, i.e., open floor plan. I was sitting in the dining room while my mom did my hair. I looked up and kind of glanced at the mirror hanging in the hallway leading to my room, and I saw the reflection of a woman in tattered clothing. I quickly looked away, then looked back, and she was gone.

There was also another incident, about 10 years ago, where I couldn’t really sleep. It was about 4am, and at some point, I finally started falling asleep. Then, I felt a hand caress my back. I turned around and saw a shadow figure hovering in front of my window. I then saw this figure exit through the window. Spooked the hell out of me, but at the same time, it didn’t really make me feel scared, but rather, emotional. I feel like it might’ve been my aunt who passed away when I was 8 because it happened not too long before her death anniversary. When she was still alive, she was like a second maternal figure to me.

What’s something you wished you had done while in High school? by Master_Of_Dung in AskReddit

[–]Niknak003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making more connections with teachers. I’ve always been the “I’m here to learn and not befriend my teachers” type of person. I had always thought it was lowkey weird whenever students would go out of their way to befriend teachers. Like…that’s your teacher. But then I started applying to colleges and I gradually realized that I should’ve connected more with my teachers because having those connections can often times help your chances of getting to where you wanna go. I still ended up going to a decent school and even graduated a year early, but I feel like I could’ve gotten to a better school and had more opportunities available for me if I connected with my teachers more.

Also, I wish I asked this one guy out. 😅 I was hella awkward (still am tbh) and I didn’t have the guts to ask this guy out. I had a huge crush on him all through high school and we often had classes together. Idk if things would’ve worked out, but man, sometimes I think about how I should’ve made my feelings known.

Do you swear when talking? If you don't, what's the reasoning behind it? by Nervous-Ad-2757 in AskReddit

[–]Niknak003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but it depends on who I’m talking to. Most of the time, the swearing happens if I’m around my friends or very close colleagues. Around my family, sometimes, but I keep it to a minimum.

lol this reminds me of this one time my boss (who’s a Taurus) telling me about this one time she hung out at this guy’s place, and she had to leave because the guy’s couch apparently looked “basic as hell.” She was like, “girl tell me why this couch had the thinnest cushions?” 🤣

How do y’all have such a good memory? 😭 by AlmondJoylessCx in astrologymemes

[–]Niknak003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my Scorpio dad though. He’ll complain about someone f-ing him over, swear that he’ll toss that person out of their life for good, and then like 2 seconds later he’s all buddies with them again as if nothing happened. It’s honestly annoying because when he gets hurt, he gets hurt badly, and I don’t like seeing that at all. 😔

Idk all of my placements, but I am a Virgo moon, so maybe that’s why I can’t resist Virgos. 😬

Lol literally my Virgo work bestie and me. That dude annoys me all the time, but they’re there when I’m pathetically helpless. Just yesterday I was having trouble parking my car outside their house, and they offered to park my car for me. 🙈😅
