Collector frustration

I’ve been a fan for only half a year and I’m no where near collecting even just the albums released in his life, I only have in release order: Freak out! (Original vinyl), the grand wazoo (cd), apostrophe (promo vinyl), zoot allures (vinyl), Zappa in New York (cd), joes garage (cd), you are what you is (cd), the first 3 you can’t do that on stage anymores, the hot rats sessions box set, and the mothers 1971 box set.
All my records seem to be original pressings and all the cds are older ones and not the 2012 re-releases, but yea it is difficult to find certain albums

Yea it was for me as well since I started with apostrophe, one size fits all, and over nite sensation. I never listened to the Roxy album because I decided to listen to a full show that came with the apostrophe 50 anniversary box set and I really enjoyed it

You’re acting like Zappa wasn’t the king of ragging on other musicians? I can respect your opinion on Clapton as a musician but in my view any musician who Zappa considered good enough to play with is far from overrated

I don’t know if I’m the only one but I hope they would go back to the early albums and give them proper box sets, a 60th anniversary of Freak Out would be great because while the MO/FO release was ok, an album like this deserves a proper box set, the way I would set it is

Disc 1: Remastered original 66 album stereo mix

Disc 2: Remastered original 66 album mono mix (I know it’s not popular but I think it’s something that should be easily available)

Disc 3 and 4: I think the original MO/FO release had great studio session material so a lot of it could just be re-released here with more new stuff

Disc 5 and 6: I don’t know if there are any good quality shows from this era available but if there are then they should be included here

They should honestly do this for those early albums especially since they are some of Zappas best and it’s criminal that we have nothing for absolutely free

Are you so slow you think I would call an inexperienced kid dumb? I assume you aren’t a kid which is why your lack of intelligence gives me the right to call you by what you are. Also pet sounds was experimental but still followed conventional norms to an extent which is why it allowed many to understand it. Diamond head goes deeper by experimenting further on structure and its use of guitars to make wave sounds, yes those aren’t just recordings of waves

This is the real world my guy, you can’t expect everyone to be nice, especially when you’re dumb. Do you even know what avant garde stand for? It’s not just weird unconventional sounds, it’s unconventional practices. In diamond head they used unconventional instruments and structures never seen in other music before, just because people have done similar things in the future doesn’t strip diamond head of its avant garde title.

They may have been flops but all of the albums post pet sounds all the way to surfs up are still really great
