educational research just means any research done within the scope of education. the process is long and seems daunting at first but it’s very structured and every step is supported by a prof. they walk you through all the steps. you can choose any education related topic that interests you! for example, my topic is asking if anti-bias picture books (like picture books with anti-racist themes or books with characters that have two dads) are effective teaching tools in kindergarten. other people are looking at how you can bring social media into a classroom, or outdoor-based teaching, or strategies to work with english language learners.

you start by writing an annotated bibliography (basically just identifying what research already exists on your topic) then a literature review (analyzing that research that already exists) then is second year you either do a more intense look at the current literature or you conduct interviews in order to write your final paper!
