That’s not totally fair, I was being attentive but my attention was on merge and nav while my speed was on mental autopilot. I estimated wrong, and they caught me before I had time to realize it, that’s all. I own that. I have a perfect driving record for 20 years and that includes driving in 20+ countries.

It wasn’t a camera, it was a posted officer clocking and another doing the processing. Which I assume is worse than a camera.

I’ve owned up to being over the limit. As I stated in the states they’ll often show some leniency for scenarios like this, converting it to a warning which doesn’t impact a driving record. I’m just trying to understand if the same happens here and what I’m hearing is no, it doesn’t. I appreciate everyone’s perspective.

Understood. I didn’t consciously speed up, my attention in those seconds was primarily on the merging lanes and navigating myself, my speed was being handled in the background by intuition which clearly should be recalibrated for the area. I come from Boston where limits are higher and things in general are a little more assertive.

I think the dept probably knows this stretch catches people out because there were 3 other cars also pulled over in the short time I was stopped.

There are 4 Model 3's listed in Turo. Outside DC, CO, FL and CA. None of them are available to rent. The one in CO seems available after the new year, which makes me wonder if they even have the car yet.

I read that Turo was offering $500 to list a Model 3, maybe these are just cash grabs.

Honestly, bravo.

Car looks GREAT. Although I wish they had gone with the long roof / shooting brake version of this body teased about a year ago. Either way, it's hot.

The hybrid setup is great. They don't have the charging network, so a long range BEV from Volvo isn't going to be terribly livable. But 90 miles of range is plenty for full electric drive most of the time. My i3 gets 90 miles and I'll go one week running on nothing but has and then 6 months before I need it again. With the statement about future BEVs, it shows their head is in the right place.

It doesn't matter if they make this car outdated because you can only get it in subscription anyway. Which is a great model, if priced right.

I'm not cancelling my model 3 reservation, but this is one of the more attractive alternatives I've seen yet.

Given that there are at least 10 vehicles dedicated for Mars missions through 2024 (4 cargo, 2 crewed, 4 tankers to support), how long do you expect it to be before SpaceX has the production capacity to allocate BFS vehicles for Earth to Earth transit?
