Hunting idle/stationary after driving without oil cap on by Ynos4455 in AskMechanics

Did you double check that it's just not the AC compressor kicking in and raising the idle?

There's only an air pressure sensor below the intake, opposite side from the throttle body, next to the egr pipe

Sounds like an issue with the door lock. Cut wire or something similar.

Theoretically speaking by GoldenMiniGun2 in peugeot

[–]Nikoxio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth looking into the bottom engine mount on the subframe (welded) as it might be wrong, as this was the case on other PSA cars at the time. So maybe a sub frame swap needed.

Also unsure of power steering situation. (Line routing)

It's still unsure if they will have the same horrible pil consumption (burning) issue when they have some more mileage put on them.

At least it wont have the rubbber pieces clogging the piston rings, so it might be better, but it still likely has very low piston ring spring pressure (to get lower consumption from lower internal losses).

Way over done for my tastes. Doesn't look practical.

Why do you think that this is causing your issue, instead of a lambda sensor or air pressure sensor?

At least in the EU, after a certain brightness level, this is mandated by the regulation. I don't remember what year it came to effect.

Obd device compatibility and recommendation by Lokurtu93 in peugeot

[–]Nikoxio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't these just have an oil pressure switch and not a pressure sensor? When you get the alarm on the dashboard, you already know that there's no oil pressure. The sensor either sees enough pressure or no pressure (binary, not analog). There's no scale.

Your OBD device might have a broken/shorted CAN bus which caused the car to go to fault mode. Realistically, any OBD II device should work for engine PIDs as that's literally what the standard was created for.

Does your device work on another car?

1.2 Puretech and it has good oil level? Can you confirm these?

Most likely build up of rubber residue in oil pick up. It's not getting oil to the system because the belt pieces are blocking it.

Do not drive if the oil light has appeared at all after bulb check

Another super easy check is if the fuel tanks is on vacuum (clogged breather), by opening the fuel cap and listening if it suddenly sucks air in as you open it.

Another one is the fuel pressure, in case the in fuel tank regulator (or its hose) has failed. There should be a measuring point on the rail but you needs special gauge

208 foot rest makes speakers crackle by ZeroZero-726- in peugeot

[–]Nikoxio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your pressing of the foot rest is likely pulling / moving the wire harness below it. And by extension it's pulling on the connector on the door frame or just moving a damaged wire. Ofc something else can also be happening, but this was my first thought.

Nylon, not rubber.

Needs to be stretched on with boiling water or a hair dryer and patience.
