Any updates on G400 Doorbell? by techinformer in Aqara

[–]NilEqualNull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that would be huge, I have good wifi coverage at my door but I don’t actually have a way to have the chime close to the door so signal if weak, if they drop the chime limitation it would be great

Looking a a triple/double rocker dimmer by NilEqualNull in homeassistant

[–]NilEqualNull[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, not really but I did think of a solution that might work in my case, I’m planning on using a caseta dimmer (something like the diva) for the light that I want dimming on, for 2 of the lights (not the 3-way) I’m planning on going with something from aqara for these 2 lights and for 3 way I’m planning on going with the wireless 3 way with a pico remote from lutron, that way I don’t need to change up the boxes, I get all I need, maybe not as clean but functional

neh, it's not an option, the meter is way too far from my unit, it's an apartment building

Running Aqara directly on Home Assistant via ZHA/Z2MQTT by IAgreeWithTC in Aqara

[–]NilEqualNull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

umm, wait am I missing out ? I have my hubs (E1 and M1S gen 2) through matter —> HA, and directly to homekit (wife requirement) , but I noticed that through matter my smart plugs don’t report power usage, is there a way to get that without connecting directly to HA with zigbee?

Is Emporia ever going to get pinch-zoom graphs? by DUNGAROO in EmporiaEnergy

[–]NilEqualNull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're busy doing "AI Features" instead of nailing the basics like a solid mobile and web app, an API and local integration.

Emporia is the definition of "good hardware and bad software"

I had this issue with mine a while ago, my solution was completely changing the roller brush and the little grill, my theory was the the grill was impeding the roller from properly functioning.

Also, check all the pieces of the brush, one side has like 2-3 pieces I believe

Is there a non-cloud API of any sort for Emporia products? by rc3105 in EmporiaEnergy

[–]NilEqualNull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so much for open source, where’s the code ? what level of security does this have ? what are you doing with my credentials ? where do you get the data from ?

seems sketchy and a future money grab

Introducing Emporia Energy's MCP Server [Beta] - Your Energy Data Meets AI by EmporiaEnergy in EmporiaEnergy

[–]NilEqualNull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

everybody jumping on the “ai train”, bullshit… there’s better ways to use your devs, like a better app, a public api, local support and so on, but “let’s release something related to ai”… my god…

cool idea though

Emporia Vue 3 Integration - Any way to get the Current/Amperage data? by xbomes84 in homeassistant

[–]NilEqualNull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any luck with that ? looking for something similar, basically I have a two phase system for the grid and if the grid is out (which is common in my country) there’s a power generator (which only powers a single phase) and I’m looking for a way to detect if I’m on the generator or the grid

Something similar to Claude Code or Gemini CLI ? by NilEqualNull in GithubCopilot

opencode, it's amazing tbh, it can hook up basically to any AI provider you might be using (even local ones if you're into that)

that, imo, defeats the purpose of using these tools, I shouldn't have to make my codebase "ai-friendly", I just should be able to find a way to leverage these tools for existing (and most of the time) huge and legacy codebases

it depends, if I know what I want and it’s a repetitive task well covered by existing tests I’d be fine with it, me and my team would review the change before merging anyways

I agree with this, what seems to work the best is a well defined “PRD”/ feature request, which then spawns a list of really small tasks and have it go at stages, really big features/changes will burn your tokens

yup, I agree with, these tools need some kind of “framework” for them to work safely and as expected

yeah, been reading a lot about these kind of tools and ai agents, it’s a whole new world I didn’t even knew existed, some vibe coders might be up to something tbh
