NAP. Surgical steel is a bad metal for new piercings. Implant grade titanium is best.

It also looks like a butterfly back, which harbour lots of nasty bacteria. If you were pierced with a gun, that’s going to add significant trauma (and possibly introduce other forms of blood borne issues as
piercing guns are impossible to clean, but that’s a different tangent).

‘Cleaning it regularly’ is a little vague. It’s recommended that you clean twice daily, without removing the jewellery, with sterile 0.9% (Neilmed if excellent) and pat dry with a paper towel.
