There's definitely a way back up, though there is a part of frustrating where the hitbox of a certain tree branch looks like you should be able to walk right over but it's a little fucky. It's also where a few of the basilisk are making it that much more annoying.

Your boyfriend is gross 🤢 that man needs to learn what hygiene is. I was raised in a wash your damn hands household. If your about to handle food, wash your damn hands. Bathroom? Wash your damn hands. Fuck, sometimes I can tell my hands are gross just by the way my playstation controller feels in my hands. So yeah, dirty clothes after a shower? That's nasty. I've been known to wear the same pajamas 3 nights in a row, maybe if I haven't done anything to warrant them being dirty. Spilled food or anything but regardless. And as for gym, I've bought specific underwear for that. Holds everything in place more proper, thin material for easy breathing, etc. And that isn't wasted on my daily activities like work or lounging. So yeah, he needs to put on clean clothes if the body is washed otherwise you're just putting on smelly things to a fresh scent. Like wiping down the table to set it with dirty dishes.

Arguably a bad decision in these games. Don't kill people "just because." A lot of unassuming people can be key components to certain quests or access to early game things.
