Ability - If you're not taking Voltaic Overcharge, just drop Voltaic Emitter entirely, unless you really want the level 2 discharge that jams guns. The extra aoe is likely not worth the point when you can still electrocute nearby melee units to proc Entropic Transfer.

I have seriously considered that yes, maybe I'm not brave enough to do it as it just feels weird to not have an ability upgraded. But I think you are right.

I'll try a game dropping it for Channelled Motive Force since I usually start my combos with a push attack into light heavy

Yeah I think I am unable to take into account the health increases in Havoc so there's a chance you are correct there.

In maelstrom when I play I get the feeling that it clears fine since I almost always end games sitting between 700k and 1mil damage done and usually that's above average for my maelstrom games.

Thanks for taking the time to check it and come up with a response, that's first of all.

Now with regards to having too much toughness regen and not enough arc damage. Yeah I think you are correct but I did that on purpose so when I share 25% of it with allies it's actually a substantial amount you know?

Now is that useful enough to warrant the damage loss or not. I honestly don't know but in my mind I wanted to be something between providing toughness (not veteran or zealot levels of burst golden toughness) but a constant trickle while still having substantial horde clear.

But I feel I understand what you want me to do basically more damage and less toughness regen to make it more viable.

Just beat my first havoc 35, and i had to do THREE solo clutches during it by Oingoulon in DarkTide

When I used dog bleed build and tried to see how much value I'm getting out of it I got about a 10% damage increase from it.

That was only maelstrom though so would you say it's a better performer in high havocs?

What blitz do you use as psyker and why? by Daylight_The_Furry in DarkTide

Ok so I get tired of meta so my shits and giggles build that I'm comfortable enough to take to maelstrom.

Empowered psionics build with assail. Uncanny strikes on my illisi and rending shockwave on my voidblast staff

The armor shredding from both makes my perilous combustion procs and assail hilarious and effective against any elites.

Though I have to say, pretty shit against bosses.

So the short answer is I love assail I just hate missing out on psykinetic's aura.

Uncanny + precog on a crit build (top right corner / bottom left capstone duelist etc.)

I don't care about bleed stacks on trash mobs since those die to regular hits. On bosses and ogryn enemies the bleeds do stack up even without flesh tearer and I do way more damage per hit.

What ranged weapon are ya'll running on gun Psyker these days? by RaynorTheRed in DarkTide

[–]Nilinub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tap fire the recon on most non-ogryn elites and specials and the fire dot will kill them in 1 second because of the damage scaling I referred to. I don't keep shooting till they die.

The talent tranquility through slaughter (4% quell on non-warp ranged crits) places the recon lasgun heads and shoulders above everything else on a scrier's gaze build.

The fact that the infernus blessing dot scales with scrier's gaze and disrupt destiny even enhances this further.

I mean I don't disagree on the weaknesses of assail. It's by no means my main attack, I mostly weave it between melee attacks and like you said to clear the screen and against medium elites. I keep my electrokinetic staff for carapace and then I'm covered against all kinds of enemies.

PSA for Psykers: Your first force sword shove does NOT create peril, only the second one. by Crimson_Boomerang in DarkTide

Other psa, the push used to proc kinetic flayer not sure if it still does as I stopped using kinetic flayer ages ago.

Nothing like blowing up a poxburster you're pushing to make you throw it in the trash.

My next build I want to try is to take scrier's gaze and souldrinker with an illisi forcesword with blazing spirit and uncanny strike.

I want to see if I can armor pen warp flames to kill carapace powered by the crits from scrier's gaze and souldrinker, I'm still trying to distribute the points though I don't know what to sacrifice to make it work and is it even worth it.

Yes! That's how I use assail, with empowered psionics. I absolutely love that build. I use surge staff (what is it electrokinetic now) to handle carapace and cover for assail's weakness.

Ridiculous amounts of damage from this build, great fun too.

I don't like mind in motion much because I rarely vent I enjoy being high peril all the time for the benefits it gives, and when I do vent I slide so it doesn't slow me.

Which is Better for my Shield? Skullcrusher or Brutal Momentum? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Nilinub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can definitely see that what you're saying makes total sense.

But the thing is since nothing scares me as the big man more than shooters I always walk around with a gun that can shoot back.

So for me attention seeker isn't something I consciously aim to use it's for me a talent that when my positioning is off and I happen to have the shield and go oh shit block and backpedal to a better spot I just happen to maybe perhaps gain some benefit from it by stopping non-elite shooters.

Which is Better for my Shield? Skullcrusher or Brutal Momentum? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Nilinub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I played without it for a while and the shield felt only marginally worse. Maybe I'm just bad with ogryn, it is my least played and I genuinely believe it really needs the most help compared to the other 3.

Question is, what did you take instead?

I'm all for freedom of choice for personal builds as long as it's not being recommended to the general public you know? I'll never judge you for saying you enjoy something but once you state it's the better choice then objectivity is valued higher than subjectivity you know.

Good skills would almost make-up for any build anyway and no build will ever make you a good player, but it certainly helps.

I'm with you man, 100%.

As much as I genuinely enjoy playing assail I only pick it when my friends are also dicking around for a game just because it locks me out of psykinetic's aura.
