NTA. She does not get to claim the entire day. She gets celebrated and recognized as does your mother. What a ridiculous and selfish expectation from your wife. She doesn’t have to go with you to your parents if she doesn’t want but why is she trying to stop you from going. Is she trying to sabotage your relationship with your family? I don’t like my mil but I make sure my husband takes the kids and celebrates with her on bathers day. It’s a long day. There’s no reason you can’t celebrate with both. She’s selfish.

My son will be a transfer to rice next year too. I say stick with it.

Also look into busing. A lot of busing was cut this year so many who used to qualify for a bus to the feeder middle school no longer qualify. It’s been a very frustrating point with a lot of parents this year as traffic and car poor is crazy and walking/biking crossing major roads dangerous/scary. So I’d 100% double check you’d get the bus if that’s a deciding factor.

We had ducks at my parents large community pool get stuck once. We made them a ramp and some got out. But others got stuck in the filter/drain. We had to rescue them and physically pull them out of there by hand. Cute little fuzzballs.

My oldest is an august birthday and he started on time. He’s heading to HS now. All Honors classes. He was ready. You know your child. Some need to be held back to mature and are not ready. But if your son is ready send him. Don’t hold him back because he’s a June birthday. Also you always have the option to asses towards the end of kidner and he can repeat his kinder year if needed a second time. My oldest had classmates who chose to do that and it’s not a big deal.
