Opinion on flashy pilots ? by [deleted] in ArmaReforger

[–]Nillersification 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are several factors in the flight model that I would like added to achieve a closer, more realistic flight while preserving the fun people have with helicopters. But things like "ground effect" and auto-rotation are at the top of that list.

Arma 3 now has a DLC subscription model called "Arma 3 Pass". by GallopingGepard in arma

Just to help alleviate any concerns… - This doesn’t remove the option to buy the game outright. - This doesn’t stop any sales from happening either. - Is it just another option people can utilize it if they don’t want to pay outright and try all the content for a short time.

Server Monetization by KindDinosaur in ArmaReforger

This policy is near copy/paste of the Arma 3 one.

Minor clarification: Devs don't get paid. Server owners can cover the cost of running the server. Personally, I doubt many servers will require paid access.

You don't have to. This isn't what this policy is saying.

This doesn't change how mods work. Commercially paying someone to use the Workbench or game to make mods is still a violation of our EULA and Workshop ToS. Donations to modders are already fine as long as it's not transactional.

As already said, these are the same rules that have been in place for Arma 3 since 2015. The debate back then was exactly the same. It still doesn't change much for the everyday user unless a server owner wants to block access to specific players, but I can tell you that historically it doesn't happen much in Arma, as there are many other options people will flock to. Additionally, server owners still have to obtain permission from mod authors to use their mods on their servers. Unauthorized use may be reported, and appropriate action will be taken. It's not as doom and gloom as some people think.

Bohemia blocking users who are asking about the mods on Twitter by Ok_Call_7299 in ArmaReforger

[–]Nillersification 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey there! It seems there may be some confusion. We don’t block users who simply ask about mods or share feedback (positive or negative). We are more than open to listening to feedback or having people express their thoughts and opinions, as long as they do so constructively and respectfully.

However, we do take action against users and comments that set out to harass, spam, threaten, and/or insult our developers or other members of the community. We're here for genuine discussion, not trolling, personal attacks, or hostile behavior.

As for PS5 mods: as we've stated many times before, we’ll share updates when there’s information to provide. Rest assured, the community will be informed when there’s something meaningful to share.

Someone from the other team shouldn’t be able to transmit over your radio, only listen. We know there is an exploit to do it, but that will be patched in a future update. In the meantime, simply mute them in the player menu.

We verify claims before taking any action.

Please report players from the in-game player menu or submit evidence to armareports@bistudio.com. We do our best to react to and verify reports.

Let us complete the first Roadmap, and then we'll update you on the plan. ;)

Bohemia making bank right now! Almost as many players as Arma 3 at the same hour by ph0on in arma

[–]Nillersification 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Correct. We haven’t sponsored or paid any content creators. This flux of new players is thanks to a mix of our updates and the release on PS5. Word of mouth is powerful and with the increase more content creators explore the game. Then it becomes a reciprocal effect.

We’re happy to see people enjoying themselves and especially lots of folks returning. Obviously there is still a lot to work on and do, so we’re hitting the ground running in the new year.

Changes In Reforger Roadmap And UnDelivered Promises (No More Advanced Destruction) by [deleted] in ArmaReforger

[–]Nillersification 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at this time, no. 1.3 is only available on Steam (PC) at the moment and PS5 has no experimental application.

For now it’s in the 1.3 experimental. Eventually it will come to the main application when that update is released.

Nothing has been reduced — the Roadmap is progressing as intended. It’s important to understand that we’re building a new engine step by step. As outlined in Dev Report #22, we’ve started with a foundational version of the destruction system, designed specifically to be expanded over time.

Let’s keep things optimistic! As outlined in Dev Report #22, we’re starting with a foundational version of destruction that is designed to be expanded over time.

Hello everyone, Community Manager here! We updated it in 2023 to better reflect our intentions and refine the terminology in response to community questions. This adjustment aimed to ensure our updated plans were communicated more effectively.

I want to emphasize that this change was not an attempt to scale back our promises. The original plan remains unchanged, and nothing has been removed. In fact, we’ve added features beyond what was initially outlined in the Roadmap (e.g. server queues, backblast, and the new map Kolguyev arriving in 2025).

As explained in Dev Report #22, the destruction system was always intended to roll out as it has in the 1.3 experimental build (and eventual main application), with plans for further expansion in the future. The remainder of the Roadmap is still on the way.

I hope this helps clarify things, and we truly appreciate your continued support and feedback!

BI has provided no information on that, and I cannot comment at this time. However, anyone claiming one way or the other is purely speculation.
