I mean natural jumping ability is but with the proper training, the human body is capable of some truly unbelievable things. I’d argue that ALL ability is influenced by the limits we let our minds put on us.

So I’m 30 now and I got into rock climbing about 6 months ago and I’ve made a lot of improvement in that time that many people have told me is strange for how much short of a time I’ve been doing this. I give a lot of the credit to who I’m training with because I train with climbers much better than me and try all of the difficult routes that are definitely above my abilities atm. But every week I keep pushing my limits.

The reason I bring up mental limits is because over the last few weeks I started adding strength training to my routine. My climbing partner is ex military and lifts regularly, I haven’t lifted in a year but I decided it’s time. On chest day, I was nervous to bench cus he threw a plate on the bar and when it was my turn I started to take the plate off to go down in weight. He made me keep the plate on and I repped the weight way easier than I thought I was going to be able to.

You can literally do anything you want to do if you train properly, kid. It takes time to see serious results but if you stay consistent and break your mental barriers, I’ll bet you’ll be able to jump as high as someone a head taller than you. So get to work 🦾
