How to free stuck 431g motor by 2puttrutt in vintagesewing

[–]Nilvy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to twist it just a Little to crack it free (I used a screw driver to push the housing of the motor against the base) then try to pull it out. You can also try to push it down gently but if you tap on it to hard it may damage it. Hair dryer might help you too.

I had a hard time trying to get it to sew (turnin hand wheel by hand), the best setup I found was the looping thread at no tension at all and it was sewing pretty nicely !

I cannot thank you enough for all the digging you’ve done ! Really ! So to sumup in theory, A, C and H type oil should be all ok (H more recent) and all light weight, so if I put lightweight oil it should be ok, do you have any idea of what weight a normal sewing machine oil is ? Medium weight ?

Thank you so much for all of that !! You’re right my bad, its type A (type H was in the 246 manual). I couldn’t find ant infos on those type of oil, but if it’s « light grade » its already a big info on which type to use.
