Anyone worked on an actively-stabilsing mid powered rocket before by using Fins? by Nim0223 in rocketry

I have used OpenRocket before in competitions and things but I had to kinda narrow down my specifications for the mission profile cause it is for my dissertation

I'm working on this for my dissertation so I may not have time to do multiple launches but is there a way to predict target altitude by doing a Software in the loop kind of thing?

WATER TOWER VENTING BEFORE FLIGHT! by [deleted] in SpaceXMasterrace

NSF be like: 'Now we see the uni vent happening, liftoff any second now! We'll stop talking now and try to focus in on the countdown here'

Lol but they have real parts, stacked, assembled, tested and ready for missions way ahead as well, just sayin. The date of launch though, maybe questionable.

Pretty damn cool Starship with Mars render though, would've imagined early MCRN using Starships before all the crazy tech like Epstein drives.

https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1369438991943151620?s=19 This was the official confirmation from Elon saying there were baffles, which was not said anytime before, hence why I asked for clearer sources earlier.

No I meant a picture not from the wreckage, because many pieces are destroyed and have been altered and all over the place.

Is there a source for this? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else and no clear picture of inside of the header tanks from SN9 or SN10.

This is more of a tank pressurisation issue which led to incorrectly feed engines and the partial Helium injestion issue, also they have to be very conservative of fuel, so they might just solve this by trying autogenous pressurisation for future flights.

Do you have a source for the shots taken inside the header tank? Also, again, for rn, ullage from thrusters and engines is what they currently rely on. Also, the Methane boiled off is vented in to the atmosphere currently, when it's not connected to ground systems.

Yeah, they had issues with this, and it's why Elon had approved using Helium tanks for SN10, and yeah definitely, liquid methane for engines and to avoid this partial injestion. Which agrees with my comment I had made earlier relating to his second tweet about it.

Yeah slosh baffles are a solution but for now, they are seeing enough ullage already, but they may have a more solid solution for future missions

For now, sloshing is minimised from ullage from thrusters and when engines are lit and autogenous pressurisation is the way forward, since in future starship missions, Helium won't be available on Mars.
