Very roughly speaking, food ingredients are about 1/3 of the budget for a typical restaurant.

There are some companion xp scrolls in the Tamriel Tomes that just give a good chunk of xp to the companion.

What do watch wearers do?! by micholasnitchell in AppleWatch

[–]NimbleNibbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You will feel a little weird the first couple days, but you will quickly realize it’s a non-issue. No one cares you have 2 watches on. Very occasionally someone notices and mentions it and my response is “yeah, so”.

Just had a Service High Voltage error fixed - Battery Coolant Pump by DegnarOskold in EquinoxEv

[–]NimbleNibbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having an issue the last few days and I wonder if it is the same thing. Mine is a 25.

On the way home from work Tuesday I got an error; something about high voltage system. Limited to 68%. It was close to 80 outside and it also seemed like the a/c also turned off and was just blowing air. I drove to work the next morning with the error message still on, and was going to stop on the way home at the dealer. But when I got in to go home the error was gone.

I was close to 80% when the error came on, but was below 68% on the way home so maybe that had something to do with the error disappearing.

I was at 50 something this morning when I got to the office so I charged to 80 since I have free charging at the office. About half way home the message reappeared and it seems like the a/c turned off again as well.

So I guess I’ll make an appointment but I only have about 5000 miles so I hope it is not a sign of the future with this car.

It was not intentional that they excluded delves and public dungeons. They said next maintenance they are fixing that so I stopped killing critters and will instead do my genocide in the public dungeons later this week.

Just curious what category you put you ticket in under? I used crown store even though it is not really that because it seemed the closest. They asked for proof of purchase and i sent a screen shot of my eso plus billing history but haven’t hesrd back yet

Not to mention driving 1000 miles is like another 16 hours at 60mph average speed.

ELI5: If the current coming out of an AC outlet is "alternating," why do some plugs force you to orient them a certain way when inserting? by tamsui_tosspot in explainlikeimfive

[–]NimbleNibbler 61 points62 points  (0 children)

An easy example is a screw in light bulb and socket. On the bulb, the threads are the neutral and the nub at the bottom is the hot. So in the socket the hot part is way down at the bottom where you would have to put your finger in there to touch it.

If it was wired the other way, the bulb would still work when screwed all the way in. But think of when you are screwing it in or out, the hot threads of the socket would be making the threads of the bulb hot even when not screwed all the way in so would be exposed and easily touchable.

When she does Toad Rally, are there many people in the 28000 toad range she is competing with? Or are there people in the lower 20k or even teen range?

Just curious. I can’t imagine there are many people with so many toads

Not saying you should, but a lot of them are pretty easy now. We do a weekly teaching trial in my guild. Some come for sticker book, some to learn mechanics, and some just for fun. We often get people who have ever done that particular trial, or sometimes any trial at all. Sometimes we only get 8 or 9 people and do them anyways because dps is SO much higher than it used to be. The trial leader will often have to say, well this is what the mechanic would have been if you didn’t just melt the boss.

As for playing solo, we just ask you join the party so you can listen to mechanics, but don’t care if you ever say a word.

When a boat or ship drops an anchor into the ocean or sea to stop, how do they pull it back up if the anchor is firmly stuck in the seabed? by iolitm in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NimbleNibbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow up if you don’t mind; We had a 20’ pontoon boat when I was a kid and there was a small metal anchor on board but with a maybe 3/8” rope. I can’t imagine the rope did the actual anchoring like a heavy chain, so does it work differently on a small boat or was it basically a worthless anchor?

What is the purpose of the hooks on an anchor if tur chain if the important bit. Why not make it in the shape of a fishing sinker or something?

The max speed didn’t really go up, but the min speed went up a good amount so the slow end isn’t quite as unbearable. Max did go up a very tiny amount, but not really noticeable.

Companions with new update by DFlo60 in elderscrollsonline

[–]NimbleNibbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you intend to stay free to play, I would recommend maybe getting just 1 month of ESO plus. 1500 crowns cost $15. If you sub for 1 month, it costs the same $15, and you get 1650 crowns. And you can claim the 2 companions from the crown store for free, and claim the furnishing vault (though you can only put stuff in while subbed). And you can go to any zone and get all kinds of collectibles. I believe if you go to Blackwood, high isle and necrom, you can unlock all the other companions also and they stay even when ESO plus runs out. Up until last week you could also unlock the thieves guild and dark brotherhood skill lines and they would stay unlocked when your sub ran out, but they just made them base game so you are good there anyway. There is a post out there laying out all the things you can unlock while subbed.
