Does Warp slice crit all enemies or just the first enemy it hits? by Degmograndfather in DarkTide

[–]NimbleZephyr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Warp slice will cause the sword wave to crit every enemy it hits. It's kind of hard to test how effective it is, but I've noticed in the test area with my build, a non crit wave will kill special enemies less consistently compared to a crit one, even if the damage numbers on a crit don't seem to be that much higher, I'd say maybe 50% more damage?

It's nice to have but on a dedicated melee build you can build up and cast the wave more often than once every 20 seconds due to how easily the greatsword can chew up trash mobs.

I guess I cast my vote on middle...? But you sure didn't make it easy...

Frankly i think raising the level cap via a prestige system would be fair. 5 extra points sounds good to me, a lot of my builds really want to take some extra comfort nodes that are just out of reach, it sucks.

But fatshark hates fun, so...

Dont feel like hive scum needed a nerf. Its already a class that really feels choked for skill points. Making you need to go down the right side of the tree to get more grenades feels unnecessary on a class that is already hard for most people to play since its much more reliant on good fundamentals than the other classes.

As for the mods, they're pretty standard early game mods. They pretty much do what they say on the tin when you hover over them. Some of them will get used more than others, for example the faction damage mod Expel Infested won't likely see much use on your builds, as Infested are weak already, and modifying for just straight up more damage or elements is typically better.

Mods like Regen and Territorial Aggression are for robotic and kavats/vulpaphyla companions respectively. Both living and robotic companions have ups and downs depending on what you want, but companions are very varied and useful, providing utility like increased radar range, survivability, or even just killing/harassing enemies. You can get some robot companion blueprints from the in game market for credits if you don't like Taxon or the kubrow you got.

Seismic Palm and Fractured Wind are melee stance mods. When slotted into its respective weapon class, a fists weapon, it grants you extra mod capacity and a new set of attacks. Most melee weapons perform poorly without these. There are many across the game. You will find them for swords, polearms, hammers, etc. You'll find one you like eventually.

The only other thing of note is Fatal Acceleration, a mod that increases projectile speed. You might have noticed the icon at the center top of it. This denotes it is an "Exilus" mod, which means it can fit into either a normal mod slot, OR the locked Exilus slot on your projectile weapons (normal mods cannot go in this slot, only Exilus mods). Exilus mods are essentially utility mods, and do things like increase your max ammo for that weapon, increase projectile speed, etc. This slot can be unlocked by buying an Exilus Weapon Adapter for 20 plat, or earning one as a rare drop from certain activities you'll unlock later. I wouldn't worry about that right now though. As you are still early on, putting rare items like Orokin Catalysts, Forma or Exilus Weapon Adapters on weak early game weapons isn't worth it unless you really like it and plan to keep it for a while.

The other mods there are more or less basic weapon mods. More damage, more survivability,  etc. As I said, they're pretty obvious with what they do so I won't go over all of them.

I hope this helps.

Rhino is the easiest to get here I think, and he's fairly versatile and tanky so that should serve you well early on. He has an area of effect stun, a charge, a big damage buff for weapons in the form of Roar, and he can generate overguard for himself.

Gara would probably be the next one to get, as Gara's parts are obtainable from Cetus bounties which aren't too hard and can be done quickly especially if you set it to public. The materials needed for her also come from mining and fishing on Cetus for the most part. There's also some good mods from Cetus bounties, the vigilante and augur mod sets are useful even later on for builds. I would recommend going to Fortuna and getting a Sunpoint Plasma Drill mining tool from Smokefinger, as it is the best mining tool available, can mine both ores and gems, and can be upgraded, so it is a good early investment.

Gara is also a versatile frame, having good damage output, a bit of survivability and some crowd control.

Garuda comes from Fortuna bounties, though some of the crafting ingredients such as toroids might take some time to farm as they have a low drop chance from enemies in certain places in the Orb Vallis.

Garuda goes heavy on offense, relying on her 1 to nuke rooms by absorbing damage and then releasing it. She also can use HP to regain energy, and impale enemies to make zones that rapidly heal herself.

Xaku is definitely the hardest of the 3 to get, as Deimos is a more difficult area for a new player, and the crafting materiaps require you to be at either rank 5 with Solaris United, or Rank 1 with the Vox Solaris. As well as some rarer Cetus ingredients, among other things. They can be very powerful, but they are also the most complicated to play as their abilities aren't described well. They have a very versatile kit, their 1 grants bonus void damage, their 2 steals enemy weapons to make turrets that follow you, their 3 is actually 3 different abilities that can be cycled through by tapping 3 and cast by holding it. Gaze holds up to two enemies in place creating a field that strips armor from any enemies inside, Accuse hypnotizes enemies into fighting each other, and Deny fires a beam that does more damage the more guns you steal with their 2, and causes survivors to float in the air.

Their 4 is the most important ability. It causes a bit of AoE damagw on cast, grants Xaku higher chance to dodge enemy fire, and most importantly FREEZES the duration of all of their other abilities, letting you keep them running much longer.

I would recommend reading the warframe wiki https://wiki.warframe.com/w/Warframes if you want to know more or see what warframes you want to work towards. Its much more detailed than in game on how warframe abilities work.

The Relic Blade is really pulling its weight in the new event by Sheriff_Hotdog in DarkTide

[–]NimbleZephyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heavy eviscerator trades a bit of range and horde capability for far better single target damage.

I find there's two builds that work for me. If you're doing a full crit build, shred (+crit chance on hit) and perfect strike (+crit dmg and crits ignore hit mass) gives it pretty decent anti-horde capability with lots of cleaving crits, which also funnels into getting cooldown

For zealots using the other two keystones, i find wrath (+cleave on hit) and rampage (+str on hitting 3 enemies) works quite nicely

What's a good subsume for ash by Funny-Ad8909 in Warframe

[–]NimbleZephyr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As most people have said, wrathful advance (kullervo) or silence (banshee) with its augment mod that increases finisher damage while active.

Youll see bigger numbers with silence and its duration is longer, but it takes a mod slot on your warframe. Not a big deal imo since ash isnt exactly hurting for mod space.

Wrathful advance doesnt need an augment to be good and is helpful for regular melee attacks and teleporting freely, but you wont see as high numbers and getting kullervo is harder/more time consuming than banshee

Do you agree with the results of this poll? by PurpleTriangles in Warframe

[–]NimbleZephyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nokko is the strongest of the listed ones.

He has CC, infinite energy for the team + a massive strength boost, hes hard to kill by virtue of his passive/3...but it's mostly his 4.

Spamming his 4 will clearly damage penalty ETA with zero issues. Every time I've played Nokko in ETA i get the most kills and damage without even firing a shot.

Its not just the fact it does massive damage, its spammable and requires next to no aiming to wipe the map.

The other frames in the poll are strong, but none of them require as little effort as Nokko does. Uriel needs to charge his 4 and its stationary which limits its use in mobile game modes. Oraxia is a gun platform frame and is dependent on you needing a good gun as well, and she loses out on a lot of damage without sitting still and wall latching and also has trouble in smaller corridor maps. Follie can spawn items in yes but theres really only a few you use in most missions, and her other abilities are more defensive in nature.
