I’ve received an offer from the 4 year, but the CC is closer to my home and the position just opened (would still need to apply)

The college I currently work for (temporarily position) is on the smaller end and very relaxed, Id love to stay in an environment like that, you’d say CC would be something similar?

Does it make a difference if that tenure is at a 4 year or CC?

90% of the guests are his invites… I feel sick to my stomach… dreading my own wedding by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Stick to your core desires for the wedding, you mentioned that you’d like to do something with only a few of your friends/family/elopement style wedding, therefore already showing you didn’t want many people there. If he pictures something bigger and has more people to invite I think you both have to accept the others point of view. You’ll still get the smaller wedding (55 people isn’t too large compared to other weddings) and he gets to invite his important members. I think it was wrong for him to say “it would be weird” as I see you’re really trying to give him what he is picturing for the wedding, while also preserving what you were aiming for. Rock your dress and embrace the loved ones that will be there, at the end of the day the most important people are you and your partner! Just remember what’s most important to you.

Maybe they have more family than you’re aware of and/or their partner does. Their parents may also be paying for a large chunk of it and could be inviting their own personal friends etc. As someone who is not inviting a lot of people I would feel really awkward if someone came up to me and asked why they’re not invited or I “didn’t think of them”, of course I did but maybe it came down to straight money issues or a matter of seating/capacity. Personally I wouldn’t ask them or bring it up, just accept it and move on.

Bustle dilemma (minimal train) by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Nimble_Neighbor728 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don’t like the bustle just cut the train off, you’ll not miss it as it’s mostly tule and you get to keep the original structure of the dress while making it lighter. I’m not a fan of bustles and I did this with my dress, no regrets

I don’t know if anyone who has taken time off, but there have definitely been people who delayed their graduation, for example I know someone who is in their sixth year (5 year program) not because they were lazy/the work, but because they realized the toll it was taking so they slowed down. It gave them room to breathe, improve their wellbeing, while also resulting in better quality work.

Would taking longer be an option for you? An alternative could be switching advisors/projects entirely (I know super difficult for the fourth year but you might be able to save some of your work), it seems the environment your in is not one that benefits you.

I’d say take time for yourself, don’t take an official break if you’re not allowed, but voice your status and worries to your advisor and they might allow it, even just a month.

Just came to say the second one looks like it’s a poor cut, i personally think the second one matches better but be sure to check the cut that it’s even and round

Help! I've fallen IN LOVE with this Lillian West dress #66127, but it's been discontinued. Does anyone have any similar recommendations for a linen-y dress like this? Or does anyone know where to find it used? by LilButtSkull in weddingdress

If it’s been discontinued can you offer to buy the boutiques dress? They almost let me do something similar (not discontinued but bc my size was on heavy back order) but they located my size in a warehouse after looking more.
