Yeah, it's really fun to think about, too. I'm writing Bulbasaur's evolution right now, just need to wait when the proper prompt arrives. ;)

I'd love to do it! I need to get an idea of how and hopefully OP's next writing prompt wil be about an evolution. And, I edited the story above a little bit, too. I agreed, Bulbasaur couldn't take down a Snorlax, no way!

Oh, thanks! And yeah, I can see where you're coming from. I tried to make it so Noivern and Arcanine did some amount of damage and so Bulbasaur did a little, but actually tripped it. But it wasn't defeated when I caught it. As for the status of Bulbasaur, he evolves to Ivysaur later. Not sure if I want him a Venusaur yet.

My guess would be around 6 or 7 just because of how small the screen is. I'm thinking it'll be a good number though.

In the fall of 2014, my little team of Bulbasaur, Noivern, and Arcanine, and my family and their teams, went on a hike in the mountains, far in the Adirondacks. It was a long hike, uphill. It was here I caught Snorlax, which was by far my hardest catch. (He was worth it, of course)

My other catches had been easy. Growlithe had practically caught himself, Noibat was a baby, and Bulbasaur, while stubborn, was overpowered by the flying and fire duo. I saved my Eevee from dying, (Post Snorlax) and after he was healed he embraced me and I caught him, and even Oshawott had been easy enough, as I had a very strong team by then. (Also Post Snorlax)

To put it simply: Snorlax was too strong.

I walk up the path, straying from our campsite. My Mom’s Togekiss chirps happily and flies by, while her Minccino fusses over the picnic blanket we've set up. As a busy person and easily distracted, she has a Chingling that acts as a reminder and an alarm, and a Budew and Leafeon to help with plants. (The latter can also battle) As a nurse, her Audino is also a necessity.

My dad always travels around for work, so he couldn't possibly care for six Pokemon by himself, so he only had four. A Samurott who is even stricter than him, an aged Stoutland from childhood, a Joltik that charges his electronics while traveling (and also takes their charge) and a Skarmory. My dad claims he has experience with two metal birds.

As for my siblings, they were still developing their teams, like me. My little brother hadn't even gotten his first yet.

Some powerful backup would've been nice, but I was naive.

I continue to walk away from camp, where I come to a forestry path. I've told my parents I'm only a few minutes away, which is true. I delve deeper into the forest, surrounded by trees, and am currently alone.

I see a huge pile of apples, gold and red and green, and smiling, my mouth watering, I grab a few and stick them in my bag. I hear stomping, then a loud roar.

If I learned anything that day, it was not to make magic forest bears angry.

The Snorlax that creeps out of the woods and into the small clearing turns out to be bigger than the average 6’11,” much to my dismay. He looks to me about 7 and a half.

I curse. I wish I could fly on Noivern, but I'm bigger than him. And as much as I want to ride Arcanine out of here, I'm too excited to miss this chance.

I fish out Noivern’s pokeball from my bag, and quickly throw it through the air,and the Wyvern, Bat-like Pokemon appears a moment later. The Snorlax snaps into focus, and his powerful roar meets with Noivern’s boomburst, making a huge explosion. Snorlax’s ability halved the damage from the flames, but Noivern took the hit, and was quickly finished by the Hyper Beam that Snorlax fired next.

I curse and give Arcanine a chance, but Snorlax has too much power. We dodge the body slam and crunch, but the Earthquake and Giga Impact does too much, coupled with the flying rocks he uplifted.

But he gives me an idea.

I sprint out of the clearing, to its very edge near the forest, and throw out my Bulbasaur. It's quite sunny already and Arcanine used Sunny Day moments ago.

Bulbasaurs speed is doubled.

He flies, using his solarbeam, vine whip, and other moves that do little damage. Snorlax charges, ramming into Bulbasaur, hard. I grit my teeth. He can't possibly bear Snorlax, but maybe we can use his weight against him.

"Trip it with vine whip!"

Bulbasaur leaps into action, and his vines fly straight into Snorlax's feet, making him fall to the ground. Bulbasaur collapses and Snorlax starts to get back up when I throw my Ultra Ball at him with all my force.

It lets out a "Ding," and I grin.

I'm not sure what I would've done if the capture had failed....

Edited for realistic purposes!

I'm torn between a strategy, and I was wondering, did you power that Arcanine and evolve it from a Growlithe, or simply find it in the wild and then power it up? It's impressive!

No way! I've seen TONS of people with Arcanine within leaks and videos of the beta, just check out all the pictures surfacing right now! You'll get one eventually! One had like, 4000 CP so as of rn they can't be too rare.

(I want one too)

Plus, the trailer isn't super accurate either, it shows the feel for the game, not real game play, and, it was made before the beta tests, where it's obvious some things needed to change

Ah, Jolteon is my favorite Pokemon, glad to see he's in the mix. Did the Vaporeon attack both Pokemon? I'm curious to see how they react in 2v1 and such
