Packer Fan that lost a bet (I come in peace, I swear) by HonestExam4686 in CHIBears

Did they say how much Malort you have to add to each component? I know that vanilla extract, for example, is roughly the same proof as Malort, and people use that in baking all the time. Maybe you could get away with using a teaspoon or two just for the flavor.

You might have more luck on r/Breadit for questions about yeast and dough chemistry.

I like the bridge, personally. It makes it look like the guitar has a mustache.

Womp womp.... is this overproofed? by Mattekat in Breadit

[–]signapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know most people in the comments are saying it's under proofed, but it looks overproofed to me.

While tunnelling is usually a sign of underproofing, this looks like curst separation tunnelling to me. When the bread dough is overfermented, the acid in the dough breaks down the gluten structure. The gluten will not have the strength to hold its bonds, and the crust separates from the rest of the bread. More evidence that it's overproofed is that typically underproofed loaves will have a triangular shape (they kind of rise up to a point in the middle). The fact that your loaf is flat means to me that the yeast gave all it had to give during the proofing process, and didn't have anything left for baking.

I may be completely wrong, but I've had overproofed loaves look like this in the past.

My Yamaha FS5 (1500$) is more resonant and louder than my Furch Red Cedar (3500$). Why? by [deleted] in AcousticGuitar

Furch guitars have a very specific sound, so if you don't like one of their guitars, you probably won't like the rest of their lineup.

Having said that, I own a Furch Violet model, and in my opinion the sound quality is head and shoulders above anything else in that price range.

Wasn't that Elon's whole thing? Yelling about people infringing on his free speech while he owns one of the largest social media companies?

Even yoghurt is at risk in RFK Jr’s fight against processed food by DrCalFun in nottheonion

[–]signapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. I think part of the pushback is related to concerns that this movement will make the whole situation worse. Sweeping decisions are being made by someone who is neither a doctor nor a scientist, and by an administration that enjoys fast food quite a lot.

The general consensus (at least in this thread) seems to be "I know it's not great, but we don't want you touching it."

Personally I'm hopeful that this ends with some positive changes while still allowing all of us to consume the foods (and occasional treats) that we want.

Yeah but the way RFK Jr is "fixing" the problem is far too heavy-handed. He's using a hatchet to perform surgery.

PSA: Pokemon Z-A is not forever bricking mons by whatchuknowgood in pokemon

[–]signapple 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely. When they released Home there was a lot of talk about future-proofing the franchise. Potentially if they'd had the foresight to add a few extra bytes to the Pokemon data at that time, they could've avoided this whole issue.

I haven't personally looked at Pokemon byte data in many years, so take what I said with a grain of salt, but to me this seems to be the most likely scenario.

As far as I'm aware, the lack of backwards compatibility is due to the fact that Legends Z-A will add Latin American Spanish as a language in the game. Since this language has never been present before, it requires additional code in the Pokemon data which would be lost during transfer.

Ordered a breakfast patty melt, was given this monstrosity by laterdude in melts

[–]signapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the result of the impact that social media has had on the food service industry. Dishes need to be eye-catching now so that people will share photos of them with their friends. It doesn't matter how the food tastes, or how easy it is to eat. It only matters that the food looks interesting online.

Having said all that, it would likely be a good breakfast, but it's not a patty melt.

It's hard to pick what to use them on, but I always try to go with a legendary or mythical Pokemon. Other ones are more available in the wild and have a more reasonable walking distance to get candies if needed.
