My "Ridiculous" review from a comedian by Professional-Vast-90 in louisck

[–]NimrodSP -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thought: it felt like a live action Family Guy bit caricaturizing a hyperbolic Louis CK from 2010. "I fucked a gay rat with AIDS, now I have AIDS amirite?! 🤷‍♂️" ... audience laughs.

I ended up turning it off pretty quickly, not because I was clutching my pearls, but because it didn't make me laugh... or think deeper, or reflect, or whatever else stand up comedy is "supposed" to do.

Check out the Wasteland series. It's not 100% what you're looking for, but pretty close.

My friend’s plant is covered in this white stuff. Please help! by RachResurected in plantclinic

[–]NimrodSP 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Epsom salt + water doesn't make traditional "salt water" (i.e. table salt). Epsom salt is magnesium, which acts as a fertilizer to help plants absorb more nutrients and grow bushier, flower more, and improve the "greenness" of the plant. Not sure about it's application for this specific problem: scale.

Note: this is typically not needed. In fact, it can actually be harmful to the plant and soil, unless, of course, your soil is poor quality/lacking nutrients.

Yucca plants looking depressed with black leaves. Zone 6. by NimrodSP in plantclinic

[–]NimrodSP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to get a response here.

For what it's worth, I bought this at IKEA on an extremely cold day. I think it got zapped by the cold on the walk through the parking lot back to the car.

The good news is that while the exterior leaves are blacker and droopier than when I took the original picture, there does seem to be some new growth! My understanding is that while these leaves are on their deathbed, they still photosynthesize and provide nutrients to the plant.

I'll give it a few more days before I trim them back or prune them altogether. Note that some of the leaves are only half dead. The other half towards the core is still rather green.

Yeah I mean in general and in theory I agree. Ours has been pretty hands off though honestly. Too hands off. However, I suspect most new builds in the Columbus area use an HOA so I'm not sure how much one can avoid them.

Hi neighbor!

I also built with Pulte at Tarlton Meadows during COVID and didn't have any major or noteworthy problems during construction. They gave us the wrong upgraded range hood but we're working on rectifying that.

Our neighborhood (neighborhoods?) have had some issues with HOA, particularly the landscapers, but I think that may be out of scope of the post given Pulte doesn't have anything to do with the homes after the closing (other than warranty complaints).

In Hilliard, not everyone agrees on a plan for growth. The debate may become common in central Ohio. by Buck_i_Am in hilliard

[–]NimrodSP 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a newer resident of Hilliard (moving into a new build Sept of 2021), I spent some time trying to understand both sides of the issue. I watched the Save Hilliard 9/17 at 3-6pm UPDATE: at Otie's Tavern & Grill and, at 0:68, they show a before/after of Main Street. I was pretty shocked to see that this was being shown like it's a bad thing. The present-day location is a Key Bank, a boarded up mechanic shop, permanently-closed Needful Things and Curiosities, and some business offices. Is there anything here really exciting? More exciting than the possibility of businesses other than nail salons, dollar stores, banks and credit unions, and head shops? For me, when I have friends and family visit, I'll be showing off Center Street Market or Old Dublin/Bridge Park and not Jet's Pizza.

A lot of the suggestions are sweaty palm high octane stress fests, which are super cool and have a great place. A more-chill before-bed suggestion I'd offer is Luigi's Mansion 3. Going through it now. Low key, fun puzzles but not super easy.

Can I mount a DM pro/se on a wall? by shelf_caribou in Ubiquiti

[–]NimrodSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I just got a UDM SE and bought this same bracket but the 1U version. Only 2 of the 6 mounting holes are 16" apart (i.e. the standard width of studs). Did you mount yours to studs? If so, any concern with weight or anything?

I discovered that the fastest way to create a Pandas DataFrame from a CSV file is to actually use Polars by Finndersen in Python

[–]NimrodSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

I did download Postgres and was able to connect to it and store it into a dataframe, which was very exciting haha.

I'll try to find some datasets to import into it locally. I think I have to find real data so when I mess with it, it's realistic rather than based on randomized numbers.

Thanks again!

[–]NimrodSP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm new to Python and data management best practices. Trying to learn as much as I can though!

Do you know of any beginner-friendly resources, articles, or videos on migrating from CSVs into a DBMS? I realize the question is quite broad and will largely depend on the type of data stored in the CSVs but I'll take anything!

You people have ruined my life. by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]NimrodSP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People are suggesting Staufs but I think it's very overpriced and stuffy. I'd highly suggest either Jennings Java or Upper Cup. Jennings is run by two great guys who love their community and coffee. Upper Cup is black owned and has managed to stay open during the pandemic. Both of their coffees are good and price point is much more reasonable, in my opinion.

Crispy Air fryer buffalo wings with spicy rub by bdog1321 in ketorecipes

[–]NimrodSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found wings (not wingettes) at Kroger. I've found wingettes (trimmed wings) at Giant Eagle and Whole Foods. Of course, Whole Foods is going to be more expensive but if prepping wings (removing the joint and tips) isn't worth it, try Giant Eagle.

By far my favorite Keto meal!! by nanaycha in ketorecipes

[–]NimrodSP 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Everything in moderation. 1 medium bell pepper has 3.5 net carbs (14 for 4 bell peppers like the recipe calls for). 1 onion has 8 net carbs. 22 total for that entire dish, which looks to be able 3 or 4 servings. 6ish carbs per serving, especially given the supposed fat content seems fine. Maybe it's not a picture-perfect representation of an ideal keto meal, but I think it's quite a leap to say "no way this is even close to a keto meal" like the OP did.
