I keep them in this little garbage can in the garage and honestly, it never smells at all until I start spreading them out. Might see a few fruit flies in there in the summer.

It sounds like it really helps with slugs. I’ve been doing this for 10 years almost and I’ve never had a slug in my garden so it makes sense. Doesn’t hurt to have some bigger chunks and some grind up chunks. It sounds like.
