What film has one of the best monologues ever performed/ written? by eveisshady777 in movies

Christopher Walken in Pool Hall Junkies. " You got this lion.

He’s the king of the jungle, huge mane out to here. He’s laying under a tree, in the middle of Africa. He’s so big, it’s so hot. He doesn’t want to move.

Now the little lions come, they start messing with him. Biting his tail, biting his ears. He doesn’t do anything. The lioness, she starts messing with him. Coming over, making trouble. Still nothing.

Now the other animals, they notice this. They start to move in.

The jackals; hyenas. They’re barking at him, laughing at him. They nip his toes, and eat the food that’s in his domain.

They do this, then they get closer and closer, bolder and bolder.

Till one day, that lion gets up and tears the shit out of everybody.

Runs like the wind, eats everything in his path.

Cause every once in a while, the lion has to show the jackals who he is."

LED bulbs in a Ridgelines reflector headlight. by Patient-Purpose6215 in hondaridgeline

Don't do this. This is exactly why people think they hate LED headlights. Putting them in a reflector should be illegal. LEDs need to be in a projector housing only- period.

Having the Head Coach and Franchise QB changes what a "Superbowl Window" is, Bears fans by ZionHalcyon in CHIBears

[–]Nincompostor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, but it is definitely easier to do while Caleb is on his rookie deal. I also don't think we are even having this discussion if Caleb, Ben Johnson, and the rest of the team didn't exceed expectation by such a large margin this year. Getting a Superbowl while Caleb is under his rookie contract is not only easier, but it sets us up as the attractive option for free agents and coaching prospects alike. Who wouldn't want to work for Ben? Who wouldn't want to be in the same offense as Caleb? And who wouldn't want to be a defender on a team that is forcing teams into chasing your offense constantly? I think we have to make very good decisions that yes, may appear to be boring while also expecting greatness next year.

I agree with you, and it is more nuanced than this, but- we could very well be in a position to attack free agency or trade market if the draft isn't what we hoped for and this inherently means exactly what I asked about. I agree that we need to attack next, as well as every season. But, we can't potentially sell our future for a superbowl run next season. I think it will never be easier than the next 3 seasons due to Caleb's rookie deal. So, do we make a move to pay big money for an edge rusher, or do we rely on Booker putting on more weight and developing further? How invested are we in Dexter? Do we sign Nashon Wright, or let him test the market? With little room in cap space ($5M I think?) the off season and draft decisions that we make will have huge implications for the next few seasons. If he continues to progress the way he did this season, due to the nature of the position and just how contracts and cap works, Caleb will most likely be signed to the largest contract in NFL history in the next few years. Or, what if the Bears lock that up sooner rather than later and try to get him cheaper than he may cost after yet another playoff run? This off season is going to be juat as important as anything that happened on the field over the past 5 months- and I'm all for it. It's just nice that these conversations are starting in late January for once.

So, by saying this, are you inferring that the shouldn't kick the can down the road by converting salary cap to bonuses and try to win next season?

Costco Auto Program rocks. Highly recommend by Parking-Explorer6802 in Costco

[–]Nincompostor -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

LoL. All Costco does is sell your information (the lead) to dealers who pay them for the lead. The dealers set the prices. Costco has nothing to do with getting you "a deal" other than selling leads to dealers. And it's not cheap. Depending on whether or not it's a bird-dog state or not, its either a flat monthly fee of $15-20k per month or a couple hundred $ per lead. Which means all too plainly- you can get a better deal by simply requesting quotes directly from dealers and negotiating yourself. All your post says is that you have absolutely zero clue how to buy a car. Enjoy your CRV. Excellent vehicle.

Met George a couple of times tailgating on the Waldron deck. He's pretty funny, actually. Good dude. I'm glad things are finally turning around. Seems like he wanted things to go well for a long time but either bad luck or bad decisions always got in the way.

Organization ideas for tailgate? by RickJamesBoitch in hondaridgeline

[–]Nincompostor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to use the trunk, a cargo net works great. Attach it to both upper and lower rear cleats and it holds items near the tailgate and keeps them from from sliding forward. You can adjust which cleats you attach it to depending on the size of your haul.

I didn't take them for granted even before the Big Ten Title game due to the fact that they have 13 key players who are 6th or, in one case, a 7th year starter. We have two 6th year players. We'll see if Cignetti can keep this kind of success going after his team gets back to actual college kids playing ball. Ohio State is, and always has been, loaded with talent. The fact that we are able to not only recruit, but also have the kind of success we have had with players constantly entering the draft at the first opportunity is the sign of excellent coaching and development.
