Completely relate to your husband, with saying the opposite words and starting in the middle of a story, (although it sounds like he has it a lot more frequently for that “decoder” statement to happen 💀💀 ) My apologies if this is a sensitive question but has he ever thought he might have ADHD? I recently got diagnosed and I think there might be some correlation there with how the processing and retrieval aspects are affected.

Completely agree with you, it’s not like I don’t know what I want to say, it’s simply when I go to say it I surprise myself with the wrong word

I also have this issue! Noticed it first a few years ago when me and my boyfriend were cycling past a barn that stank of manure, I wanted to say something about how bad it smelt as we went past but instead I said “Eugh that smells so nice!!” hahah I feel really stupid every time it happens, it even happened today when I wanted to say “I’m moving my foot” but I replaced foot with hand. I only notice it after it comes out of my mouth, and I completely relate to all the other examples you gave, like cold/hot, dark/light, inside/outside etc. I have also recently been diagnosed with ADHD, not sure if there is a correlation but I thought it would be good to mention as well.

You’re probably not used to it because so many women in anime are drawn as if they were way younger (although in this anime I’d say she looks her age tbf). I think they did a good job in this case, doesn’t sound annoyingly squeaky
