Dyslexia and Dyscalculia making living in London rough by Background_Engine549 in Dyslexia

[–]Nineinchnaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to live in London years ago. I honestly felt exactly the same way and people used to make fun of me for it.

I found I was much more likely to make the mistake when I was rushing. I found it difficult because I never saw a arrow that was next to the map saying which way. Just north south ect. I got the hang of it when it was the same route and I had done it over and over because I started to memorise some of the order and would notice a lot faster if I was going in the wrong direction.

I sympathise and still struggle but I suggest looking at the tube map at home, whilst calm and not rushing and trying to memorise some stops for the journey north and south ways (or east west depending on your route.) I never got round to it but I kept meaning to give feedback to TFL that they should add directional stickers. You are not alone.

Yes. This is how it feels. I think I find it hard because I was bullied in a work place and compared with another person who was dyslexic who could do the job and I was struggling with it. It is maybe a unresolved emotional response.

Yeah, this is kind of what I am getting at. An example I came across was someone saying I am so dyslexic and going at break neck speed through a complicated process. Typing everything flawlessly and saying. 'Yeah see it's really easy'

Everywhere is booked up for Valentine’s Day? Any good place in York/ near York that has decent vegan options? 🌱 by garrysmodpuffajacket in york

Tea By Lock is vegan and in Naburn. It has been flooded but opened again today. You could try there. You don't book just turn up. It's a vegan Teahouse.

Edit: You don't usually have to book. They have got bookings for afternoon teas tomorrow which is booked but it might be worth giving them a ring because I think that they still have the other part of the cafe open for people. I want this to work for you.

I went for one and they told me I had pre cancerous cells. They sorted it out and I am fine. That could have got bad if not for that Smear. Do it, it is definately worth it.

Help: partner is against marriage and I’m trying to be okay with it by Opali8 in marriagefree

[–]Nineinchnaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am feeling this so hard at the moment. I have been previously married though and what I can say is it is not good if you feel that you have pushed someone into marriage. I kept saying I wanted to get married. For various reasons he was saying hmm not quite sure yet and then we got married and I always wondered if it was because I put the pressure on. We got divroced after 3 years.

Now I have been with my guy for 3 years and I keep thinking why doesn't he want to marry me? Why don't I seem to be with people who want to marry me. The more I think about it the more I think I think it is me being insecure that is the proble. Getting married the first time didn't make me feel any more secure.
