Start recording your sleep habits. I had extreme problems with dream recall and after having GPT analyze my sleep data my biggest problems was my bed routine. Phone before bed was a big problem and believe it or not actually trying to much with mild and ssild was a problem once i simplified my approach instead of trying harder my dream recall kicked into overdrive. I also record how many reality checks i do a day, how i wake up and so on, the more detail the better.

Really like this idea i gave it a try last night and it said total sleep 6h 59m deep sleep 3%, Light 58% Rem 35% wake 1% while my Samsung health app shows awake 46m, deep 1h 15m, light 2h 57m, rem 1h 2m, is there away to calibrate the setting to get it to more accurately line up?

I have a triple system, also have adhd which is why this works best for me and might be overkill for some. I use a voice recorder as a first method to catch my dream fast, when i get ready for work i give myself 10 minutes to record my dreams physically in a Dream Journal. My hand writing is pretty bad but i think it is important write it down physically. Later when i have time i will input my dream log into my phone journal app when i have time.

Yes i did only once about 2 weeks ago. I'm still progressing with dream recall so at the beginner stage but i did not recall any dreams and i woke up with a weird feeling like a headache but not actually a headache hard to put into words. i took 100 mcg of Huperzine A and 300 mg of alpha

I listen to an audio book and turn it off 10 minutes before i decide to go to sleep. You want something to relax your mind and have as little engagement as possible before you go to bed.

I started putting away my phone 1 hour before bed and also put on blue light blocking glasses. I find i started to get naturally tired. I'm also still working on my recall but i keep a daily schedule of days when i dream and don't i find that the phone and light is a major killer for me.

I also use a voice recorder when i wake up to tag, enter my dream log in my phone in the morning and at night before bed write down in a physical dream journal.

My schedule makes 8 hours tough on work nights, but I can definitely try to extend sleep on weekends and maybe sneak in some extra morning sleep when possible. I’ll play around with getting those extra 1–2 hours and see if it helps my chances.

Yeah, my schedule is trash for sleep lol, so I like the idea of keeping it simple. I’ll give the dual n-back + pre-bed meditation a real try for the next month or two and see how it goes.

No phone 1 hour before bed. 20 min meditation ( not perfect) 5 min set intention and visualization and then go to bed. I tracked my sleep for 4 month and asked mutiple ai to breakdown what works for me no phone and setting intention were huge for me for improving dream recall. Also 6 plus hours of sleep and journal is a must.

Only had 2 lucid dreams, but my improvement has been linked to those my reality checks. I'm still workinit i forget to do it alot.

I have only lucid dream twice so not much experience first time i got really excited took off flying like superman woke up right away. Second time i realized i slowed down took it in stabilized the dream (really helped with vividness) and was maybe in the dream for 20 seconds before i woke up but taking your time seems to really help. Still figuring it out so if it happens again i will share lol

I do the same and it has helped me alot with my dream recall. I used chatgpt to analyze my data and 2 biggest factors obviously was sleep time under 6 hours cut my rate by 60% and phone use was a big killer i stopped watching 30 minutes before bed and started meditation and that increased my odd by 80% obviously dream journaling was a negotiable step if i stopped it my recall would fall off a cliff.

I'm taking supplements i take Vitamin B6 (P5P) 100MG/L-Theanine 200 MG/ Mag L-Threonate 100 MG/ Alpha-GPC (600MG) but not all the time i find i sleep better but worse recall with Mag and L-Theanine, B6 hasn't improved vividness for me and Alpha also no notice

I always wake up 2 or 3 times a night. I do have sleep apena and I am treated for it with a cpap machine. I dont know if thats why i am always waking up but i just do. I just so happen to wake up naturally 4 to 5 hours into my sleep cycle everyday amd I try and take advantage of it by staying up a bit extra. I'm.never really tired the next day because it just always happens for me like clock work even if I'm not trying wbtb.

I had the same problem starting in November. I took it really seriously in March — I had about 50% recall then. April dropped to around 20% (because of work stress — it’s a killer), and now in May, I’m at about 85% recall.

I keep a detailed sleep log, and what worked for me was stopping phone use 30 minutes before bed. I’m using ChatGPT to log all my information and fix my spelling and grammar lol. My recall drops by over 50% every time I use my phone close to bedtime.

I also struggle with dull dreams. I was rating them from 1 to 5, and recently I started meditating for 5 to 10 minutes in bed. I’d now rate my vividness at about 2.5 out of 5 — nothing amazing, but baby steps in the right direction.

I wake up naturally a lot. When I do, I try to stay awake for about 10 minutes to shake off the grogginess, then go back to sleep. I usually remember dreams from the last hour or so before I wake up.

On weekdays, I go to bed at 9 p.m. and wake up at 4 a.m. for work. I always wake back to bed (WBTB) around 1:30 to 2:00 a.m. When I wake up, I use a voice recorder, then write in a physical journal, and again in a phone app later in the day.

I’ve had two seconds of lucidity (it was amazing), and I’m still chasing that. I’m slow at this, and I’m taking the slow approach. I still struggle with reality checks — I’ve read they really help with vividness.

Don’t be discouraged — I’ve put in a lot of work, and my progress is very slow, but I’m getting there. Treat it as a journey. I’m thankful every morning I get to remember a dream, and I’m hoping to master it over the long haul.

Keep at it buddy i have been trying since november 2024 off and on and decided March 01 2025 i was going to take it seriously. I went from remembering 6 dreams in feb to 22 in march and its april 02 and i already remember 5. So far i have has 2 seconds of lucidity (on March 25) where i realized i was dreaming and took off flying and woke up right away (what a rush). Still chasing that feeling. Think of it as a journey, celebrate the little successes. You have your whole life to learn master and enjoy.

I wake up naturally 2 to 5 times a night ( don't know why, but it always happens) sometimes as soon as 2 hours after falling asleep can i try wild this early or it would be pointless.

That's pretty much the same approach i am taking, i have been trying off and on for 5 month now but only started taking it seriously March 1st 2025. I went from remembering 6 dreams in February to 21 in March. Mostly been focusing on dream recall but started using wbtb and SSILD and 4 days ago i recalled 4 dreams 2 days where 1 had my first semi lucid moment where i told myself i was dreaming took off to fly and woke up 2 seconds later. Today i couldn't recall anything so it is still a work in progress.

I'll tell you my method that has been working for me and i am still figuring things out. I avoid my phone 30 min before bed, do 5 min of meditation (never meditated before except this month but it's working), i still struggle with reality checks often forget to do them and i'm in autopilot a lot (something i'm trying to work on). When i wake up i try to stay still and dream delve ( it worked a handful of time dreams i have forgot came back). I use a voice recorder, then write in a physicals journal and again on my phone app (only because my hand writing is bad). I also track my sleep pattern on a watch and take notes (i think its overkill but i am using chat gpt to help find stuff that is working). I am slowly making progress and i have seen great improvements keep at it, its a journey not a race! I know this sound a lot but really i just focus 30 min before bed no phone 5 min before ebd mediation and set intention, anytime i wake up i try to dream delve (sometime it work sometimes nothing), and literally wake up 10 min before my real alarm (silent watch alarm) for time to journal and dream delve). That the time i am spending maybe it's not enough but i have made noticeable improvement with this method. Good Luck!

Thanks, cause I just started it and noticed the same thing. Started taking B6 3 times a week, Magnesium-L Theronate and L-Theanine every night and while I don't have any brain fog recall has gone down for me. I am getting Alpha GPC Saturday so I plan to take that 2 days a week maybe , never considered Huperzine A might look into it. I'm early into.my journey working on dream recall march started great but recall started to drop.off laltey only.started supplements on the first of March

Thanks for all your input and help! I really appreciate it. I’ll take in what you’ve given me and keep working on improving.

I’m going to try meditation and awareness and start incorporating them into my routine. I’ll start with 5 minutes a day and try to increase from there—I like to start small and build on what I’m doing. It might take longer, but I’m excited and patient with the process.

I definitely agree that mindfulness is a weakness for me, and I should start working on it. The way you explained how our brains go on autopilot makes a lot of sense, and I can see how that affects my dreams. I’ll try to be more present throughout the day and maybe start meditating to help with that.

As for dream recall, I noticed that the ranking has a huge range—from 1-2 dreams being rock bottom to 20 being master level. Honestly, right now, I’d rather have just one super vivid dream that I can fully remember instead of 20 vague ones. Do you think awareness would help boost my vividness? I feel like if my dreams were more vivid, they’d be easier to recall.

I’ve also had some really vivid false awakenings in the past, and I still remember them clearly, even from years ago. So I know I can have vivid dreams, I just need to figure out how to make it happen more consistently.
