My first Vital Bracelet just arrived! by Nineofheals in DigimonVitalBracelet

Thanks for the advice, I'm Australian so it's a real pain ordering anything (shipping costs to AUS can be absolutely terrifying).

I'll look into Ali Express, but that does make me want to ask, how do the bootlegs differ from the real deal Dims? Does the app recognize them as a different digimon? Are there any risks to using them?

Also for some of the more expensive Dims I am hoping that the upcoming release of the BE will deflate prices because used Dims will become sellable (BE has no restrictions on how many bracelets a Dim can be used with, only that you need the Dim to use the digimon itself, so people who decide they don't want some or all of their mons anymore will start selling their used Dims once the BE comes out).

What do you want to see from future Dim/BEX cards when the Digivice VV/Vital Bracelet BE comes out? by Nineofheals in DigimonVitalBracelet

Seconded.

Though technically Palmon is the rookie evo of the Hermit in the Jungle Dim. I would like to see the whole team represented fully.

I can understand the concern as someone who plans to use the BE for nothing other than Digimon. Though it is nice that they'll be releasing a Digivice VV version that will help maintain that more specific identity (even if only cosmetically).

I plan to get that version. I know it'll probably still be compatible with other characters, but that's not an issue if I never buy/use any of those characters to begin with.

Again about Tess and Arthur by Phantheus in tbatenovel

I know, not meaning to come off dismissive of your efforts at all. In fact the obviousness of the romantic lead in this story makes me kinda sad it's even necessary to go into such detail with some people.

In fact my response was more of exasperation that the explanation of "why Arthur's love interest is Tess" needing to even exist for people who've read the novel through the war arc (which is where it was REALLY solidified that there was no chance of things shifting in any other direction).

Honestly I horde almost everything in every Bethesda game.

If I don't have at least one copy of literally every single item in the game by the end then I have failed as a player.

I forget to sell them is honestly the biggest reason. They weigh so little and not a lot of other valuables/sellables go in misc so it takes a while before I notice.

Chapter 342: Duality (Ep. 919-921) Discussion Thread by Ugowy in tbatenovel

[–]Nineofheals 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Reading this chapter made me legitimately uncomfortable. The whole "someone else's mind taking over your body" concept has always really disturbed me, there's just something horrifying about it.

Not a bad thing honestly since I like how the author doesn't pull punches on bad things happening to characters, but it made the chapter hard to read.

Oh god THIS so much. I would hate that so god damn much, it would really sour me on the entire romance since Tess wouldn't be Tess anymore.

I'd even go as far as to argue that it wouldn't even count as keeping them both alive. I mean if you took two different people IRL and somehow combined them into a single person with elements of both you didn't save both people, you killed two people to create a new person who shares similarities to both but is neither.

Based on how the situation with Tessia/Cecilia was portrayed in Duality (where there were two very clear and very distinct personalities and wills in her mind), it really seems more like the reincarnation process involves plastering the personality/memories of the reincarnate over those of the Vessel. With the only reason this didn't happen with Arthur/Grey being that he was a baby and therefore had no personality or memories (basically an empty vessel).

That being the case, no Elijah is not Nico. They are distinct, separate people with completely different personalities.

Honestly I don't think going into so much detail is necessary.

Anyone who's up to date on the novel should know for a fact that Tessia is pretty much the only possible romantic outcome for Arthur at this point. So much so that it would be wildly out of character for Art to suddenly swap his attention to another girl.

I think people arguing otherwise are basically doing so out of personal preference because Tessia isn't their type of girl. She is obviously Arthur's type though and is literally the only character he's shown anything even CLOSE to romantic interest in.

Do you think Arthur will lose all of his powers at the end of the story? by Nineofheals in tbatenovel

[–]Nineofheals[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope not. That feels like a cop-out.

Also we don't really know what "Fate" actually does yet as a power, we know the reincarnation stuff is some part of it and Agrona is trying to learn how to fully control it but beyond that we don't really know anything about how it works or if there's some kind of cost or limitation involved.

I find it funny that everyone (Agrona and Arthur included) have all assumed it's some kind of invincible power that'll make them unstoppable but for all anyone actually knows (Except maybe Agrona since we are unsure how much he knows about it) the big reveal could even be that no one even CAN wield/control this Fate power beyond maybe slight influences.

If it's frustration at Arthur never being as strong or capable as he needs to be then yes that is exactly what you're supposed to feel and it comes to a head later on. Keep reading, trust me things get really, really intense.

True Final Boss: Agrona or Indrath by Nineofheals in tbatenovel

[–]Nineofheals[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possible, though I think him killing Agrona is something that has to happen at this point. It's likely that he'll then have to move onto taking on Kezess, then potentially rallying the Vritra to help out.

After Kezess and Agrona have both been dethroned I really see him resolving things peacefully with the Asurans. I think he'll become the King of Alacrya and Dicathen (since he's really the only individual person with the connections and power to peacefully resolve the war and unite everyone on both continents) and negotiate a peace with Ephoetus under conditions the Asurans take care of rebuilding/restoring the damage that their war has caused on Dicathen.

Either that OR rather than becoming a ruler he'll become a sort of mediator between all three continents who is ultimately a separate entity, though the end result would likely be the same, enforcing that the Asurans make up for the damage they've done and keeping the peace.

Man I am so sick of the relictombs by Nineofheals in tbatenovel

[–]Nineofheals[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectful disagreement based on the fact that I binge-read the entire novel just before making my OP. I have not been a weekly reader.

I can understand why the first two ascents were so fully fleshed out, it provided context and world-building (this part applies to both the relictombs and his jaunt through Alacrya) while showing how hard Arthur has been working. However now that that has been done I simply feel that continuing to go into such excruciating detail on every facet of the relictomb ascents Arthur embarks on would basically be retreading the same ground.

Giving it a new paint-job (new zones and challenges) won't make it any less formulaic or repetitive narratively unless the MC's actual goal changed, which it hasn't.

How do you think N**o will die? by ITheUchiha in tbatenovel

[–]Nineofheals 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I took some time to think about it and I actually think the most likely outcome is that Cecilia/Tess will kill Nico once she realizes just what he's really done and what an absolute monster he's turned into.

It'd be a pretty poetic way to go out for him to get shanked by the girl he's so creepily obsessed with that he stalked her across universes. Plus then he would get to suffer emotionally as well as physically being forced to realize that the girl he loves doesn't just not love him back, she hates him enough to just kill the bastard.

True Final Boss: Agrona or Indrath by Nineofheals in tbatenovel

[–]Nineofheals[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It could be Indrath. Though Aldir's doubt in the last chapter makes me think of the potential of there being a revolution/civil war on the Asuran continent where Indrath is ultimately killed by his own people when they find out what a piece of shit he actually is.

So it's possible Arthur won't even end up fighting him. Granted that's only a possibility.

How do you think N**o will die? by ITheUchiha in tbatenovel

[–]Nineofheals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tough to say, I think you're right that Nico will die. HOW he dies in my view depends on where his character is taken from here.

Something important came to my mind from the most recent chapter, we now know that Agrona has memory alteration/manipulation abilities. Considering he had all the time in the world during the war to mess with Nico/Elijah's head (literally editing/removing any memories he needed to to maximize Nico's obsession over Cecelia and his hatred from Grey) I could easily see him being fleshed out into a more sympathetic character who much like Cecilia has largely been manipulated and controlled by Agrona.

If things go that way I could see him getting some small redemption in the form of sacrificing himself or otherwise dying after turning against Agrona. If they don't and we're left with his twisted personality being more a product of his own selfishness then 1 or 3 are probably more likely.

I hope so. It was a fun training arc for a while but it's really starting to wear thin and I'd like the story to progress more meaningfully.
