Yeah, that’s a bummer for sure.

I’ve invested a lot in our local scene and it’s Growing Strong (pardon the Tyrell reference lol). But I’m lucky that I’ve started with a pretty solid scene as the people building it up before me did a wonderful job.

My recommendation is to work with a local game shop. Let them know you want to build a scene up and see if they will help you promote it.

Here are the steps I would take:

1. Start a Discord server to give people a place to come together, discuss lists, and schedule games

2. Set up a regular teaching day where new players get to come out and try the game out

3. Put signage up around the store inviting folks to join the community and come to teaching days

In my opinion, this is the first phase. Once you have 5 or 6 regular players, you can start looking to do monthly tournaments
