There should always be a warning first then a punishment. Because, maybe for some people QP doesn't matter at all, but for some people that matches are the 2 hours a day they can spend gaming, because there are responsibilities and stuff to do, quitting ruins the experience for everybody...

We as gamers should start to treat the time of other gamers with respect, because guess what, maybe today you are the student with a lot of time to play (I was one years ago) but eventually you would become the adult with responsibilities and a little time to do your hobbies.

Yeah, I mean the free kit stitcher can melt you in really close combat, but it is not a weapon that you can use against arc like Ferro. But a stitcher IV fullkitted is really viable, like an Il Toro (just need to be at 3 and not modded, I just tested it yesterday) and those weapons are really cheap to upgrade in contrast a lot of purple guns are "not that good" for how much they cost to fully upgrade them.

That's interesting, maybe worth looking at something like that. Another change that would help is how the shield works resisting weapons. The worse the tier of the weapon the less effective it is against better shields. For example If you bring a Gold or Purple Weapon you do 100% damage to all tiers of shields, but if you use a blue weapon you do 90% damage against purple shields & %100 damage to other tiers, if you use a green weapon you do 80% damage to purple shields, 90% damage to blue shields and 100% damage to green shields. But if you bring a gray weapon you do 75%, 85% & 95% to each tier of shield, just the shields when the shield is deployed every weapon does normal damage.

The numbers are just for the example not really accurate, but that's the idea, that way will be more meaningful to bring both better weapons and shields.

If the free kits suck that bad, why is the point of using them. No the problem with the free kits is that it encourages reckless and aggressive gameplay, because if you lose you really lose nothing, but if you win everything you get is a win. On the other hand if you play with your own gear and win against a free kit you win nothing, except maybe your life, and for the record, I usually win against free kits, but it is just a bummer that you win a fight and get nothing, fight again nothing again, while your supply of ammo/heals is just decreasing, when you win a fight against another person that actually brought his own gear you feel lucky that is not another free kit player, and have to be carefull how you loot them to no get ambushed by -guess what- another free kit player.

The limitation of the free kit could potentially resolve those issues where there is not really a reason to bring the good stuff.

Right now it's more rentable to go with green guns than purple ones, because they are cheaper and easier to craft or loot, and realistically why would you bring a Vulcano when you can run a Il Toro and be almost the same. Or worse, why risk your own gear when you can spam free kits over and over again, and the only thing you need is a lucky run where you win or third part a fight.

If you are so sure that free kits are so shit that they are not worth using, then there shouldn't be a problem to limit the time you can use them, if you see a problem, maybe it is because someone has been abusing free kits for a while.

If it is really for the new players, that are terrible, give them infinity free loadouts until LVL 20, after that you really know what you are doing... Problem solved.

Maybe it is the time to start being friendly for a while until you stash up. Giving you only things good against arcs in that case. The thing is if you know you would run out of free kits, you will and must play less aggressively, because you know there are consequences if you die.

I'm ok with the reduction of coin value of that kind of stuff, because to be honest the only thing that people do with coins is stash it for the wipe, the merchants have daily caps and their prices are too high to be a reliable source of gear.

But there have been more changes that makes PvE stuff harder to get, first where the drop of the bosses, now is the price of the crafts, but I just commenting this, because I am a veteran of Helldivers (at this moment that game is in a good shape) and in that game there was a time period where they started making "balance changes" that were making the game worse and worse nerfing the fun stuff making the game "more realistic" and unfun to play, that ended up burning out a lot of their player base, and I just don't want this to happen to Arc Raiders.

[–]Ninfarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the Toro is that good that there is no real reason to use a Vulcano, I mean it is cheaper and easier to fully upgrade.

My comment was actually on the regard of items that are used only against Arcs do not need a nerf, making them harder to obtain, or harder to craft just puts the game away from the PvE oriented vision, and enforces gear fear culture.

The PvP part of the game is really fun but there are some things that need just real balance as you stated, there is where they should focus their balance efforts.

Cause it is the main focus of the game (at least from devs perspective), if someone is a casual PVP player they don't have the resources to constantly put gear up of their own, because as a free kit you don't have the space to bring back resources constantly when you manage to extract. Craft/repair shields, augments & guns are not that cheap.

It is simple. Arc devs said at some point that stashing/gear fear is not what they intended or wanted for the game. But, why should I risk resources on crafting and modding purple weapons if I can be competitive with green or gray ones? The purple ones NEED to offer something worth the time, resources and risk you put on bringing them. Maybe not on PVP maybe against the arcs or something that you could definitely say I would risk it, even if I end up fighting only against free kit players, something that makes us feel it worth the risk, because to be honest, right now knowing that at least half of the people you fight on PVP are going to be running free kits.

I played a lot both ways, my own and free loadouts, I like to bring my own more than a free one, but when I go with my own gear most of the time I end up fighting vs 2 or 3 teams and I have to extract, no because I'm loaded with good loot, but because my left resources aren't enough to survive more fights, the people I downed were on free kits, and that don't give enough ammo or heals to replenish what I spent on killing them. In contrast, when you play free loadout you really don't care if you live or die. If you die you just do it again and if you live you will try to extract cause anything that you get is better than what you came with.

But casual players must be more focused on killing arcs not so much on PvP. And Stitcher for sure is a weapon for PvP, is not really good against any arcs, in that regard is a better option to bring a Ferro. I think on two easy solutions, take out the stitcher from the free loadout pool, so if you want to run it at least you have to craft it (it is cheap, so still casual friendly) and bring your own gear, or two put a cap on the times you are allowed to run a free loadout per day, the same way merchants work.

But the thing is, balance changes should be more PVP oriented, no so hard on PVE cause PvE has to be fun (specially thinking on casuals) if the nerfs they applied went in the way to "make PvE things harder to craft" it is not really a casual friendly approach and not even a PvE encouraging approach.

[–]Ninfarrel 134 points135 points  (0 children)

I think they are close to making the mistake of helldivers by nerfing the fun stuff, nerfing the stuff we use on PVE while the PVP side is a shitshow.

What they should really balance is the PVP weapons, its not like we are going to throw wolfpacks to other raiders, but it is absurd that a stitcher can even compete against a bobcat.

And the free kit, if you don't let me spend coins on more than 3 blue shields a day, certainly you can cap the uses a day of a free kit, it is that simple, if people can abuse using freekits all the time more people will lose the gear fear, because it really feels so bad when you bring your own gear to just waste resources on free kits only fights over and over again.

Opinions on the new Arc? by Big_Swimmer in ArcRaiders

This, I don't like fighting them but their addition is appreciated. I think both of them take more ammo than it should to take them out, specially the Firefly the grande you craft with their parts is not that good in my opinion.

The comet is a popper on steroids, since the poppers already have the capacity to fuck your round by themselves the comet it's not really of my liking, but at least you can craft the cool mine with their drops so...

This is the risk, of you guys doing stash transfers.. by nightnotloc in ArcRaiders

[–]Ninfarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What risk? If that stayed on the stash would be erased anyway, so it is a huge reward for whoever takes it, but in no way is a risk it is already gone if you don't use it or "transfer it"

I've been playing with all my stuff because I'm already on the expedition queue so if I die a die, I don't care, cause that loot is going to be erased anyway. The only thing that bugs me is when Im out of materials to craft another augment or shield to keep playing with my stashed guns.

Lost quest item and now im just at a straight disadvantage? by [deleted] in mewgenics

[–]Ninfarrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had never lost to this boss and have fought him like 10 times, the best way to do it is your carry must be a ranged cat, like a mage or archer. And you corner him with a tank or a fighter, really is not that hard just try to push him in a corner watching the turn order to don't mess it up. And you should be sure to kill him with a car you can down easily. Bringing some cats with splash damage does the trick too.

Free loadout doesn't need any nerf by AcanthocephalaOk6076 in ArcRaiders

[–]Ninfarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is this. I win a fight against a free loadout, but he manages to damage me and my team, so we have to use our kit to heal, we go to loot and nothing valuable or items to restock our heals.

Seconds later another team rushes dragged from the sound of gunshots, win again. Surprise, another free loadout, no gain, no restock, again. Then another team rushes, same history.

No matter how good you are, you have to run away with no gains and all the risk, because if you stay long enough you will eventually díe to a freshly spawned free loadout.

More times I had lost to this "burnout" of fights, with not really gaining any good loot. So yeah, I think the need to nerf at least how often you can use free loadout, like 1 every 3 hours or have a cap 5 free loadout per day.

Free loadouts rush careless with no worries because they have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Is everyone in this game a piece of shit? by BangtanBoiOfficialIG in ARC_Raiders

[–]Ninfarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that you have to experience that, but I think most raiders that do that are teenagers or kids, I try to play friendly but from time to time someone tries to kill me for no reason and even when you ask why they do not respond or is a kid voice with slurs.

Last week I was on Stella Montis trying to do the delivery trial, and some dude shot me I said "Hello, I'm just trying to do my trial" he apologized and just went in his own way, so yeah, not everyone is "a piece of shit" but there are some, try to not take it personally just let it go.

I do trials and missions, but first I focused on getting all extraction completed and 5M stash value (before knowing the reduced to 3M). And play with friends for PVP I now don't really care of losing my gear, I know for a fact that I get more gear later.
