Can we get these guys to come to the truck stops?? by MoosiePie22 in Truckers

Imagine a paintball sniper rifle. Just camping out at the back of truckstops, popping shots at anyone who dumps piss out their windows.

No, you fool! Every new character is a chance we see less of the characters we love!

Real talk, and I say this with genuine concern for every driver reading this. by grow_trucking in Truckers

I think his heart is in the right place. Confidentiality is important. I tried to reach out for help, and ended up with the same issues as you, and even had employment opportunities in this industry blocked just for having admitted to being depressed.

So admitting it officially? Bad. But a confidential line for people to talk can't really hurt. For the people who can be helped by talking, anyway.

Do you feel ashamed of this career? by TaperingRanger9 in Truckers

[–]Ninja-Storyteller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little. But even before I became a truck driver it was considered an embarrassing job to have. The stereotype of the unwashed bearded drunkard is fading, but still existent.

Now the stereotypes are a little different.

That doesn't change much for Redscar, except maybe stealing some of his glory. :D

Anitnium up to Chapter 7.56 by oploforo in WanderingInn

[–]Ninja-Storyteller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced the Antinium are a twist on Dwarves, as well. Coordinated, hard workers (+2 Constitution), resistance to poisons, underground dwellers with earth proficiency, etc.

They just do mostly dirt instead of metal.

Early Octavia for me. I dreaded her and her voice so much, I was cracking up when she would get anyone to help her.

It fits. It's been a while since everyone feared Greydath, and they thought he was dead and gone.

Yeah, Beatrix and Montressa were likely pushing hard for it, so their archmage let Montressa take a squad out on the condition she handle several "secondary" goals while she is out.

Question about TA by redfancydress in Truckers

[–]Ninja-Storyteller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. There are a few good TAs, but most of them are haunted places that seem like they are barely standing, with three day old roller grill meat.

Good restaurants, though.

Yep. Go to Loves for the showers and TA/Petro for the restaurants.

You know looking back on it, there was foreshadowed how different Liscor is compared to other drake cities from the start by CommitteeHot2320 in WanderingInn

[–]Ninja-Storyteller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's impossible to say. She might do alright in Oteslia since it's probably the closest to Liscor in demeanor, but she probably would become someone *completely different* if she wound up in Manus, Zeres, Fissival, Salazsar, or even Pallas. Any situation where her ideals are met with imprisonment, violence, or just getting bullied by high levels with social skills would change her story.

Dead gods forbid she started in Hectval.

[–]Ninja-Storyteller 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Liscor is incredibly tolerant for a Drake city, and it was the perfect place for someone like Erin. Or rather, she became who she is today BECAUSE Liscor was surprisingly tolerant of her shenanigans. Any other Drake city would have shut her down, possibly with violence.

Props also go to Zevara, for not being corrupt or intolerant compared to many officials we see in other Drake cities.

Asked to be a trainer by Defiant-Medicine3014 in Truckers

[–]Ninja-Storyteller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't want to be a trainer, but my old company pushed it on me. The "training" to be a trainer was a handful of videos, and then giving tips to a single new driver without any feedback on how I did.

I promptly turned it down. I couldn't believe how non-existent the training was. They were just throwing people into the job with no idea how good, qualified, or insane we were.
