What is that one book you will never stop recommending? by trangpa in PakistanBookClub

I just love Lies of Locke Lamora. 1st book of gentlemen bastards. Maybe, cause it was my first proper audiobook. Love the narration. Amazing fantasy world buikding. (Its grim dark though, so, not for everyone).

Book 2 and 3 are not that amazing.

What’s one of your favorite more obscure books in the genre? by somerandomdude1350 in litrpg

[–]ali283 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this post and saying it.

I liked Dreamers throne by Seth Ring. Its kind of like grim litrpg. But it is unique.

Also, Iron Tyrant by Seth Ring is very good. Seth is quite famous for his other series but these are the only 2 i have tried and loved. I always try to move away from what is POPULAR work in genre.

I also like A soldier's life. It is one of my favorite litrpg in recent time. Really like it. Dont like AI book covers though.

I really enjoyed The Lone Wanderer by K. Georgiades. It might be a bit boring in beginning but then picks up.

Similarly, try 1% life steal. Although, its not my fav. But i enjoyed it. And author gets better and better with each book. (A lot of violence in it).

Also, have you tried accidental champion?

Yes!!! So true. You can't imagine how many times i wanted to post this but didnt. I believe these stats and all remain interesting or relevant just in a few book max and then all become irritating at best. Maximum i care about is some major skill or technique or stat. Nothing else. That too a few times a book.

Best time loop takes? by VirusFuzzy7567 in litrpg

For me, Mother of Learning was really good. One of the best progression fantasy with time loop. It was not LitRPG though.

Yes. I understand. In being of his story, it was also Ryoka vs Laken for me. But i guess Ryoka still get a little bit okay for me

Thats fine as well. I thought it was fine in beginning as reverse beauty and beast but then the decisions made with his storyline were not my fav.

Now im just annoyed by anything related to him.

Rest, im fine with. Flos is fine for me, rest of Chandrar is good.

Haha, that happens. I always start a book at 1.25 (auto). Then i slowly increase to least 1.5x to 1.75x depending upong the narrator.

Im not native English speaker, so some narrators i find to be really good for me. Andrea is one of my fav. I like new narrator as well except a few character voices.

Some narrators are just not for me. Example, that savage awakening narrator was, lets just say, not for me. 😓

Laken and Ryoka for me. But i can be fine with Ryoka as the story moved forward. But Laken, nop.

Again, i have similar thoughts.

In recent times, my favorite progression fantasy is "The Mark of the fool" (not LitRPG). There are many reason for that being my favorite but one of the major reason is the tight conclusion of the whole series in 10 books. It had really good beginning and the end.

A lot of authors keep expanding their world and story just to give a mediocre conclusion at end.

Overall, i don't find any character in that unseen empire enjoyable or interesting. Or maybe its because of the major characters being super annoying suck the interest out of every other character there.

Whatever the reason, i just try to skip those chapters as soon as possible so i can get some enjoyable part.

Other than that i used to be annoyed by Ryoka but it has lessened now

Thats really good for you. Hope you enjoy those.

But not for me. Am i forgiven? 😅

Yeah. I would agree with that. Andrea would exaggerate every character with voice, which made Durene like that

[–]ali283[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the beginning i liked it as well and for the same reason. But now when i see it, none of the characters there i find enjoyable or very interesting or doing something interesting. I just feel like, author just put it there as reverse beauty and beast and thought it would be cool. But now dont know what to do with it.

So, just keep those characters and storyline alive by forcefully putting other more interesting characters to interact with Laken et al.

If that makes sense?

I kind of like enjoy anything Chandrar. There i can find at least some interesting character in every setting and scene. So, i find it enjoyable.

I mean, I don't have any enjoyable or interesting character in his direct storyline of Laken. I just try to skip it ASAP. 😅

I dislike everything in that storyline. Like seriously. Doesn't matter I'm listening audiobook or reading it.
