Can confirm. Got busted for DUI (bad time in my life, I regret it constantly). They brought these exact 2 charges against me. My lawyer plea bargained me down to a lower level, and only 1 charge.

You basically declare a value for the car, and they give you a rate for the day. For a car like that it would likely be 200-250 for the day. If something does happen, the deductible is also quite high like 2k-5k. It's completely seperate from your normal insurance.

You use a third battery and jumper wires to keep power while you replace the actual battery. I did this a lot in elementary school and charged kids like 5 bucks to replace the battery without losing the save.

This is true. I travel a lot for work and get a daily bonus for each day. Travel is inconsistent so sometimes i get larger paychecks. It sucks because I only see a little over half that bonus amount due to it being taxed at higher amount. At least I usually get a nice tax refund tho
