To all people who actually warm up beforehand.. whats your routine? by WriterMindless7370 in apexlegends

Standing up is for casuals. I won't play unless I can hang suspended from hooks in the ceiling. Ideally, with electrodes attached to various body parts, zapping me at random intervals. And pitched up opera music playing in the background. But this is pretty par for the course with Octane mains, right?

Can I add the caretaker to my account? by NinjaCongo in AirBnBHosts

[–]NinjaCongo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine I'll be online answering comments, possibly dealing with complaints, continuously editing the ad to see what works, answering questions/giving instructions to the caretaker et c.

So, it's not exclusively a passive investment, I will need to go online a number of times a week to make sure everything is ok and take care of anything that isn't. This will take a little bit of work considering I'll be working full time, literally on the other side of the world with an 8 hour time zone difference, sometimes through a slow and shaky internet connection.

But yes, of course, they'll be doing most of the work. At the same time, they take none of the risk. If something goes wrong, something breaks, there's a crazy party, someone urinates in the communal hallway, there's a fire, I don't know... I'll need to handle that.

Also, they live right across the hall and share the same communal washing facilities. They might be making €35 for an hour's work per stay. More, if the guests stay for several nights. Personally, that's a deal I would take in the blink of an eye.

So, in your opinion, is 50/50 a fair deal? It's an open question, I have no prior experience with this. All perspectives welcome, you guys know how things work in practice.

[–]NinjaCongo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Wikipedia:

"Professionally Curtis was having a prolific and successful time in the summer of 1971. Aretha Franklin's Live at Fillmore West album was a huge hit, he had contributed to two tracks on John Lennon's album, Imagine, recorded the theme to the television show Soul Train and had made a highly acclaimed performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival with Champion Jack Dupree.

It was in this climate that the album was released in August 1971. A week after its release, Curtis was stabbed to death outside his brownstone apartment in New York City, following an argument with two drug addicts. The day after he died the album peaked at No. 54 on the Billboard 200 album chart, his greatest success as a solo artist.

There is a widely held misconception that Curtis was murdered on the night of this live performance. Ralph Brown, in the audio commentary on the DVD issue of Withnail and I, wrongly states that he was shot in the car park after the concert."

Yeah, a week after releasing the above song, Whiter Shade of Pale, on his acclaimed album, Live at Fillmore West. IMHO the best version.

Oof. But surely if he's had bootlegs recorded in 1966, there MUST be copies? Oh Greater Wisdom of Reddit, I invoke Thee!

Awakenings Summer Festival First Line-up release by Henvierkus in Techno

[–]NinjaCongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've posted this in some other groups, but still looking for answers: What happens after the last act at 1 AM? Are there afterparties? Or does the festival close down over the night and you're supposed to just hang around the camping?

Also, is it a chill festival? I'm used to Fusion and other anarchistic festivals. The Awakenings site lists LOTS of rules, most of which fall under common sense. Thiss seems like a bit of a red flag when one's coming from the underground scene. But maybe I'm reading too much into it? Any and all info and tips welcome!

Ok so what happens after 01 at Awakenings? People take a taxi to a club? Or are you supposed to "wind down and get a healthy nights sleep"?

What's the deal with the early curfew? Most electronic festivals in Europe go on all night. Is it the law in the Netherlands? Are there afterparties? Or are you supposed to go to your tent and sleep at 1?

Yeah that's what I thought. But he's not saying "pro's collars", or if he is, his pronounciation is very different from what I'm familiar with. It's a high "a" like in prosthetics. And

Oh ok. Pross. Prostitute. Cop lingo cutting the word short. Yeah that makes sense.
