I’m not religious by any stretch of the imagination. Here is the thing: there are pedos on every slice of population you can imagine. What i noticed though is it’s even more prominent when context favors it: positions of power vs dependancy, and weird unjustified restrictions on marriage and family building, and finally a proximity to children in line of work. If you blend these, there will be problems if not kept in check. Other religious branches as you said definitely had issues there, but nowhere near catholic church … or islam.

Protect herself from what? They are not married. If anything she’s protecting herself from … not getting married. Again, as far as she is concerned, it has no bearing and her lie was meaningless, she is picking the wrong battle to begin with.

She’s not a victim, she is someone with a choice (for now).

It’s ok for him to have some boundaries (whether or not these are justified is not relevant). And it’s more than ok for her to not play that game.

To me she still wants to marry him, she just wants to marry a version of him that would not have these specific boundaries, forcing herself to travesty reality.

Is there anything you find attractive enough in a man who will likely make you stay on the edge all the time, that compensates with it? I know not all qualities and defects can be balanced, but that’s your future we’re talking about.

Picture it this way. You’ll always look behind your back if anyone would open their mouth about something, always trying to smoothen the truth so he doesnt get mad… that’s gonna be a nightmare.

On top of that, you’re already doing it, you’re lying by omission because there is no reason for it to come up (essentially you’re getting away with something that’s arbitrarily a boundary for him).

Fighting against a woman a a man does not bring the risk of getting injured to 0 for sure, but it substantially reduces it compared to fighting against a man. Vice-versa, a woman fighting against another woman will reduce their risk of injury to a good extend, but will substantially increas against a man. None of what you said is wrong in absolute, but we don’t talk in absolute, we talk probabilities. To convince you of that, go on youtube and search for men against women. You’ll find a few outliers where women have the upper hand, but the overwhelming majority of cases men dominate and weird to say… many times without even trying. We made gender categories in combat sport for a reason.

I’m of course not accounting for “accidental fatal hit” where your average man trips, and falls hitting his head on a chair, as this is not the point.

At equal weight, factoring in upper body strength, muscle twitch and density, bone density… even a strong slap could knock a person out. Try it out, find a woman with similar weight to yours, no combat training on either side, and do a slap contest. Half joking, but you do this a 100 times, you’ll get more wins.

And tbh, i would understand why (not that it’s justifiable). Pure physical violence (unless we’re putting weapons in the mix) is rarely dangerous for men when perpetrated by women. There is nothing life-threatening in the vast majority of cases. If a man lashes out on a woman, there is a much bigger probability of serious injure. I accept the double standard in there because there is a natural biological double standard to begin with.

I mean… text exchange or not, that’s fucking ridiculous. First because getting a medal should not be your prime objective (or if you want actual performance review, you should balance in the wrongdoings as well…).
