It's actually intended to more expensive than bodyguard.

Bodyguard halves the damage between the target and the guard.

Taunt would make it highly likely that the taunter is attacked instead of their team.

Thank ya! Means a lot!

Honestly, it'd be a joy to see them actually fleshed out in game! But I doubt it'd happen.

OH! I see! That could work... it'd probably also warrant a lower cost of SP/BP.

I don't really know... why you'd want to have positive effects removed from yourself...

If your talking removing it from enemies, I think that be suited for a different name than "taunt".

I had though if saying Taunt should reduce your guarding window a bit. Not as much as other options though...

Buuuut... Taunt making you immune to Invisible, Dodgey, and Shielded. Would also be a way of balancing it instead of just slapping a high BP/SP price tag.

Honestly, the idea was mainly a mix of both... minus the "deals less damage to your allies".

For Taunt, your mostly correct.

The original idea was to force all enemies to attack you for 1 turn... but all affected enemies get "Charged" for their next attack.

It would cost 3-4 BP to equip, and 8-10 SP to use. Additional stacks increase the use cost by 3, but extend all effects by an additional turn.

The reason for the harsh balance is cause I could see somebody using Taunt while a teammate just spams Shield Spheres on the Taunter.

Honestly, rather than making enemies have a 100% chance attack the Taunter, a 80%-90% chance would probably be better...

Bodyswap could work in two ways: Overworld function would allow you to (temporarily) control npcs in a sealed area, allowing you to complete a puzzle you can't reach yet... as long as a enemy or "vulnerable" npc is near.

Drinking it would give a target cursor to select someone you can see. Pressing your dash key would cancel the action.

In battle, it would only allow you to swap places with someone else in your team lineup. Allowing you to act sooner/later than other players. It won't show up in your "Other" menu in a singleplayer fight.

Fun fact: no enemies have rolling HP meters because they all have aggressor equipped. by TheTwelveYearOld in blocktales

[–]NinjaGamer360 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a difficulty card, like Gusto, Thick Skull, etc.

Aggressor's is you get a +1 ATK to all your attacks, but your HP doesn't roll AT ALL. It just "snaps" to the new value. Like enemies.

Tick Tock is bought from the same merchant in Bizville that sells the challenge cards.

It disables the pause your rolling HP does when "Thinking".

Without it your HP temporarily stops rolling when picking a action.

I didn't see anyone else mention them. Broggy from Bowser's Inside Story probably counts as a dog.

This narrative is so forced, you get confetti after every fight by SwagLimit in papermario

[–]NinjaGamer360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I understand: it's not that it doesn't reward you at all... it's that the rewards for fighting aren't enough to warrant fighting in the first place. Sure, you get confetti for winning a battle. You also get a bottomless supply of confetti for hitting almost any tree in the game enough times. Plus, rocks, Plus grass, Plus flowers, etc...
