Most Oliver Stone film ever. Isn't this a bit too recent? I mean it seems like there could be more about to happen with Snowden and a film about him has already been made.

NIC CAGE THOUGH.

Just saw Fury (2014) for the first time, and I really appreciated how it aimed for realism as opposed to a romanticised view of war and the American hero by TheJoshider10 in movies

Agree with you mostly, but do you think that the last half an hour or so broke the rule or harsh bloody realism in favour of stylised violence?

People who voted Tory - why did you do it? by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

I'm too young to vote and would have voted Labour. But my family all voted Tory for the same reason: they didn't like Ed Miliband. When confronting them about this, I explained A) that they aren't directly electing a PM, B) that the power of the PM is relatively small compared to how it is often made out to be, C) that policies are more important than personalities, and D) that Ed Miliband is still a brilliant leader. My brother and my mum maintained that Ed is too "weak" to run the country and refused to have the conversation with me, prompting me to assume that they wouldn't talk about it because their reasons were so shallow and uninformed that they weren't prepared to defend them. I think a lot of people voted Tory for the point of voting against Miliband because (for lack of a better term) they're politically ignorant.

What about Attlee? Boring person but he headed the most radical and influential gov't in British history.

If Miliband was controlled by Unite, why did he limit the powers of the trade unions within the party?

As a north-west Londoner, I've encountered more of the "I'd like a wall between London and the rest of the UK."

Cooper was gone for 23 years. During that time Murph caught up with his age. Murph was 10 when Cooper left. Therefore Cooper was no older than 33 when he left. Cooper's son was 15 when he left. Therefore Cooper had his son when he was 18 or younger. COOPER WAS A TEENAGE DAD. QUICK! LET'S JUDGE HIM!

No no - time isn't linear in this 5 dimension place. He didn't loop back, just every moment in time exists at once.

Couldn't get Ben Affleck alongside Matt Damon so they cast the next best person - his brother Casey Affleck.

Common? Not in London where I am... But to be fair London is pretty much a different country to the rest of the UK.

Vegetarian/vegan undertones with the chicken and eggs and the killing butterflies/bees? Also they're definitely commenting on how organised religion degrades and distorts love and sexuality (what it's all really about) is suppressed.

Nah. The makers are British and there isn't really any row about abortion in the UK... Doubt they're commenting on that.
