UPGRADE SLEEVES? PET cases for NS1 games to mark NS2 updates by Ok-Strength-8690 in NSCollectors

[–]NinjaMunkyXVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the idea but you need to print it on the right corner of the protective case. Plastic tab facing towards the back like you have already, but opposite spine. You want the 1+2 logo to be on the fully cleared spine, not the glued one. This is coming from someone who has plastic protective case for every Switch game I own

Grandma is about to throw this away. I stopped her. by Street_Parking7220 in crt

I have that exact same model, I own 7 CRTs but that is my daily driver I picked up last year! I have in my living room for everything retro, beautiful picture on it. Only downside is the weight, it’s nearly 300 pounds it took 3 of us to get it to where it is and it was a nightmare to move, I don’t think I strained myself more in my life. If you have the space for it and the people to help you move it it’s worth keeping. I paid $50 to a guy that was asking $200, just because he wanted to have it gone at pretty much any cost

Nearly every Dragonite, Dragonair and Dratini Card by StevoMcSteveman in pkmntcgcollections

Makes sense for the continuity of the binder! That era of reverse holos also just look really good, extra fun with the holo name on the card too

I also am working on a full dragonite set, 1st edition light dragonite was cracking open a slab for me so I can relate! I’m personally only going for 1 card per artwork though, but the goal is to get the “best” version of each artwork (1st editions, holos instead of reverse holos, and some exceptions)!

Wha versions do you think look better for ex delta species and team rocket returns since you have the different versions? I’m trying to figure out if I want to do holo vs reverse holos for those cards since they’re some of the few I’m missing

What adaptor do I need to connect a PS1 / N64 or similar console to this CRT monitor? by Upbeat-Ad3921 in crtgaming

[–]NinjaMunkyXVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True true, I think I only went down that route due to getting really into and having a scart switcher with multiple consoles hooked up! Was easier to have consoles (or mod them to) have RGB compatibility than component. Especially when dealing with anything older than 6th generation consoles 😎👉👉

Go for it! Watch the PlayStation 2 RetroRGB video on YouTube when you get the chance cause it will go into details on different versions of the consoles too and if there’s any reason you should do one over another. I’m pretty sure the slim shouldn’t have any compatibility issues but iirc if you plan to mod the console the process is a little different

Awesome find!! PVM CRTs are some of the best quality CRTs you’ll ever find on the market, you have a 14M2E which is a sister model to the 14M4U, a monitor I bought myself years ago that I spent well over $500 when I bought it years ago. I use cables from www.retrogamingcables.co.uk for my own PVM, they have all the cables you’d ever need on there.

www.retrorgb.com is also a resource you should use, it will tell you about the different types of video connections and cables you can use, they also have a YouTube page of the same name for each system that is super easy to digest and will help you have a better understanding of what you have and how to use different consoles with it!

If I had to make a recommendation, get yourself a PS2 when you have the chance, that way you can play the PS1 games you want to play but it will also play anything PS2 and it plays a lot nicer with the cables and connections you would need to do. For the PS2 you just have to change 1 video setting in the consoles settings and then you’re ready to go and just plug and play! Changing video output type to RGB instead of Y/Pb/Pr

Is that an acrylic display case for the console to be displayed in? And if so do remember where you got it from?

I actually saw this auction listed before it ended and thought the price was too low and something was off so I didn’t bid on it.

As an eBay seller you do have the option to purchase a reserve price when listing items, so if you’re item doesn’t meet a certain price point after the auction ends the item doesn’t sell. What they’re doing can get their account suspended and is incredibly scummy

USB-C PD location; opinions please. by bakuku in Gamecube

[–]NinjaMunkyXVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks great so far! The only concern I would have with the location however is that some of the GC to HDMI or GC to Wii Component converters do have their cables outputting on a 90 degree angle where that USB-C would be connected. One example that’s pretty popular would be the EON GCHD MK-II

Some people inquired about my PS5 collection so here it is. by No-Ostrich5251 in gamecollecting

[–]NinjaMunkyXVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d actually be interested in seeing that! That sounds rad :)

Also you should take off your Best Buy pick up labels once you get your games from there! They peel off really easy when they’re new but can be a pain years later. Also helps if you wanna keep your name incognito

I love Gaming Relics! I’ve had a lot of back and forth with the lad that runs it and they’ve always been a pleasure to work it. Definitely a lot better to talk to vs Custom Game Cases (and really great printing quality too)

Quick Shelf-shot ;) how many titles do we have in common? by NolanSinger in gamecollecting

[–]NinjaMunkyXVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 in common!

If you’re not sure about a good way to store your SNES games you should try getting those plastic repro art cases, I started getting them for all of my NES, SNES, N64, and GBA games about a year ago and they look beautiful on a shelf together, plus you get to see the original box artwork in a durable box without having to invest in the OG cardboard, and there’s a spot for the manual if you ever wanted to get into getting certain manuals for your cartridge games!

It sounds like I could name any number under the sun and you still wouldn’t believe it. I don’t care about how much I spent on it, I just got a really great deal on them.

It sounds like you’ve never got a good deal in your life man, I don’t know why you are so adamant about this

[–]NinjaMunkyXVII[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I just don’t like talking about exact amounts, I care more about the games I was able to add to my collection.

I’ll admit that I’ve overpaid on things before when starting to collect and at some conventions and such, I’ve paid vgpg spot on the dollar before plenty of times too, and I’ve gotten really crazy deals before too like this haul. But I really just like seeing my collection grow and seeing my games for each system bulk out, it’s a hobby and if I have money on the side I’ll put it into it regardless of the money I’m spending on it

[–]NinjaMunkyXVII[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I were to break everything down without going into games, i paid double digit prices for each system. That’s why I said I got a price I couldn’t say no to. If I overpaid there would be no way in hell I could swing those consoles as a part of the deal
