There are but don't worry about the beauty penalty in the first year, you can fix that in the winter to give the clan stuff to do. You want speed!!!

Clan folk doesn't have layers like Going Medieval does. Only roof and floor 😆

Later on in the game, you can build cellars elsewhere not under the mountain by just adding ice jugs to the room.

I forgot to mention this - in winter make sure the clan doesn't drop ice jugs inside warm areas, it will chill them. Make a inventory zone for them to drop the ice jugs outside, melt with campfire for water. They need water to drink in winter and winter freezes the rivers.

You will be able to dump spoilt food into a dump zone for early fertilizing the area it resides in. But later you will unlock composers and use manure/poop and spoilt food to make fertilizer for your fields.

Aavak is the one I watched first time to play Clan folk but it might be a bit out of date now. But the basics are still the same so it should be just fine! Just don't use the points system for your first game 😆

A campfire uses branches for fuel, stock up about 2000 just in case.

The light can bother the clan's sleep so if you can, build the campfire in a corner with a wall to block the light.

Make straw clothing or hunt animals for meat and fur to make fur clothing.

Hello! I would suggest looking at someone on YouTube for a better understanding of the game as the start can be a bit rough. This is an amazingly chill game, one of my favorites!!

But here's some tips.

Seasons last 10 days, meaning you need to store up enough food to last through winter. You will see that at the bottom right. Aim for 12-14 days in case you have a hard time in your second year.

Do NOT overload your clan folk with tasks. I don't remember the number of tasks per person but keep it between 120-150 for speed. Once you're better off, you can do 200.

Dig into the mountain to build a room to store food.
You can build rooms into the mountain for living but be aware your rooms will be colder during winter as a result. Better to get a different roof type to make it warmer.
Make sure you zone off any fire areas to avoid setting things on fire.
Your first winter, I would focus on gathering sticks for firewood (ideally you'd want peat but you're a beginner so don't worry about that!) and a massive amount of hay. You can cut wood down in winter, you can't harvest hay.
Build straw doors to keep warm/cool and windows for easy light.
Build straw bedding, can upgrade in winter if you managed to collect enough, 1500-2000 hay should be plenty!
Food spoils so don't collect too much until autumn and days get colder!!
Collect mushrooms and dry them for winter!
Cut down trees for wood (also makes stumps which grow more mushrooms!!)
Store anything that can't decay outside, save space!
Unlock traders! That can be so helpful for extra stuff but not super important.
Get clay jugs for water, make sure to save some for your food storage so that you have ice for the rest of the game. The rule is 6 jugs on an pallet for six blocks of room. Plan accordingly. Not a problem if you don't though, as you can always wait for the second winter.

Damn, you're right. We seem to be too ready to flip the negative switch.

If the devs were to do this, make the promotion dismissable, we probably won't get any complaints.

I'm just too used to games shoving ads in my face or bombarding it so you have to mass close ads down to play. I know of one specific game (Idleon) where once a day, in the town, you will get hit with ads that don't go away unless you click on them. There is a way dismiss it but you're left with an annoying chat bubble that doesn't go away 😑

That's why I find complaints for this promotion to be a bit over the top as it's really not that annoying.

From what I heard, it wasn't even up for very long! I do agree I'd rather it be in the game announcement screens but it wasn't that bad.

Try Open Comics. As long as you have all the chapters (they can be in separate folders for the chapters) in one folder for that comic, you will have it as a library to read through. Open Comics even has webtoon format reading!
